3 Skeins Cascade Jewel, 100 % Peruvian Highland Wool, 100g/3.5 oz, 142 yds, Color # 9890.
Size 9 US/ 5.5 mm double point needles.
Size 11 US/ 8 mm double point needles.
Size 13 US/ 9 mm 16 inch circular needle or straight single point needles or sizes needed to
obtain gauge.
Gauge
10.25 stitches in 4 inches in pattern stitch with size 13 needles.
Pattern Stitch
Rnd 1: k2, *Yo, [sl1, k2tog, psso], yo, k1; rep until 2 sts rem, k2.
Rnds 2, 4, 6, 8: Knit when working in the round. Purl when working flat.
Rnd 3: K2, *k1, yo, [sl1, k2tog, psso], yo,; rep from * until 2 sts rem, k2.
Rnd 5: K1, k2tog, *yo, k1, yo, [sl1, k2tog, psso]; rep from * until 5 sts remain, yo, k1, yo, ssk,
k2.
Rnd 7: K2, k2tog, *yo, k1, yo, [sl1, k2tog, psso]; rep from * until 4 sts rem, yo, k1, yo, ssk, k1.
Seed Stitch
Rnd 1: *K1, p1; rep from * to end of seed stitch section.
Rnd 2: *P1, k1; rep from * to end of seed stitch section.
When working flat, work the opposite stitch as presented. If the stitch in the previous row
was a knit stitch, you will purl. If the stitch in the previous row was a purl stitch, you will knit.
Pattern
With size 9 dpns, co 40 sts. Pm for the beg of rnd. Work in a [k2, p2] rib in the rnd for 6 inches.
Work one more round in rib until 2 stitches before the marker. K1, kfb, slip marker, k1 kfb.
These 6 stitches are now the seed stitch section. 42 sts.
Begin pattern stitch for 36 stitches, followed by seed stitch for 6 stitches for 8 rounds. With
size 11 needles, continue both pattern stitch and seed stitch for 16 rounds. Measure and make
note of the total length at this point. With size 13 circular needles continue both pattern
stitches until sleeve measures 21 inches or the length from the bottom of wrist to underarm.
Begin working flat at marker. Work until piece measures 18 inches or length from underarm
to underarm across back.
Begin working in the round again until sleeve measures total sleeve length less the measure‐
ment made note of on the first sleeve (length of ribbing + 8 rows with size 9 needle + 16 rows
with size 11 needles).
Work 16 rounds in pattern with size 11 needles, then work 8 rounds in pattern with size 9 nee‐
dles. Work in [k2, p2] rib for 6 inches. Bo in pattern.
Abbreviations
bo‐ bind off.
co – Cast on.
k – knit.
k2tog – knit 2 together.
p – purl
psso – pass slip stitch over the k2tog stitch and off the end of the needle.
sl1 – slip one knitwise.
ssk – slip one knitwise, slip a second one knitwise, insert the left needle into the front of these
2 stitches and knit these 2 stitches together.
yo – yarn over.
