13. Cinnamomum burmannii Blume yang banyak ditemukan di Indonesia


memiliki aktifitas antidiabetes. Ekstrak kulit batang atau daunnya berpotensi
dimanfaatkan untuk mengatasi DM tipe II yang ditandai dengan resistensi insulin dan
defisiensi insulin. Senyawa utama antidiabetesnya antara lain Methylhidroxy Calcone
Polymer (MHCP), sinamaldehid, dan polimer procyanidin type-A polymers atau
proanthocyanidin.

terminated when the volume reached up to 100 ml. Dried bark of C. burmannii (20 g)

reached up to 100 ml. The decoction was filtered through a Whatman no. 4 filter
paper and the resulting extract were used in the biological assays. P. crocatum extract
was mixed with the extract of C. burmannii with a ratio of 1:0.6. Then, it was added
the sweetener, stevia, as much as 0.67% (v/v).

13. In conclusion, at the oral doses tested, the functional drink of P. crocatum and C.
burmannii was well tolerated and neither produced overt signs of clinical toxicity nor
any signs of hepato-, nephro or haematotoxicity. Thus, functional drink of P.
crocatum and C. burmannii was found to be non-toxic when oral repeated dose
toxicities were performed. Overall, this study provides valuable data on toxicity
profile of functional drink of P. crocatum and C. burmanii that should be useful for
the planning of future preclinical and clinical studies of the formulation.

10. Cinnamaldehyde, a chemical constituent of cinnamon which has inhibitory effect on
secretion of endogenous pyrogen may not be sufficient enough to fully inhibit release
of endogenous pyrogens, COX and the prostaglandins. Therefore, a further research
should be conducted on Cinnamomum burmannii (Nees & T. Nees) Blume using
other methods of extracting the active compound which possibly result in higher
concentration of cinnamaldehyde, thus will increases its effectiveness.

11. The cinnamon barks were measured into suitable weight of 0.15 g, 0.30 g and 0.60 g.
Water is heated in the first level pot until it is boiled and cinnamon barks mixed with 5
mL of water were placed at the second level pot, heated until 90°C for 15 minutes
with every 5 minutes the preparation is stirred.
12. The preparation was then filtered using a flannel cloth and adding hot water through
the pulp until the needed volume was obtained. The filtrate had a brown to dark
brown colour varying according to the different concentrations. Herbal infusion of
Cinnamomum burmannii (Nees & T.Nees) Blume was kept in a container until the
time of treatment.

13. It can be concluded that 5 mL of 6% and 12% Cinnamomum burmannii (Nees &
T.Nees) Blume infusion per oral had antipyretic effect for the first 30 minutes.
Additional studies are needed to determine if the antipyretics effects of cinnamon
were due to inhibitory effect of cinnamaldehyde on secretion of endogenous
pyrogens, and compared with gold standard antipyretics example paracetamol to see
whether there was a significant difference in antipyretic effect between cinnamon and
paracetamol. The research also should be developed into clinical trial and lastly
expanded into phytopharmaca.

10. Kandungan dalam kayu manis yang dapat menurunkan kadar glukosa darah ialah
sinamaldehida. Sinamaldehida bekerja menghambat enzim alfa glukosidase. Enzim
ini merupakan enzim yang terdapat pada brush border usus halus dan bertugas
memecah polisakarida dan disakarida menjadi glukosa. Senyawa lain dalam kayu
manis yang dapat menurunkan kadar glukosa darah yaitu MHCP, suatu flavonoid
yang memiliki efek mirip insulin. Kerja MHCP antara lain ialah dengan
meningkatkan konsentrasi IRS-1, suatu reseptor insulin yang akan mengaktifkan jalur
PI-3K.
11. Subjek penelitian diberi 100 gram puding nasi tanpa kayu manis yang dimakan dalam
waktu lima menit.
12. Alat yang digunakan berupa glukometer, strip glukometer, lanset derngan lancing
device, kapas alkohol 70%.

(Cinnamomum burmanii) dengan penurunan kadar gula darah tikus putih jantan galur
wistar dimana semakin tinggi variasi dosis yang diberikan semakin memberikan efek
penurunan kadar gula darah yang lebih baik.

instan kayu manis yang paling banyak menurunkan kadar kolesterol total darah tikus
adalah pemberian dengan konsentrasi 43,2 mg/5,15 ml, dengan penurunan kolesterol
sebanyak 7,8 mg/Dl
