Final Year Project – Mechanical/Automobile -2012-2013

Project Title: To design and simulate a formula vehicle according to the FSAE International
rules.

Abstract: The objective of the project is to design a formula car which has been assigned to a
design team by FSAE for which we have to design. The car has to be designed
according to the rules and regulations provided by SAE on a 3D modelling
software. The challenge to the team is to develop a vehicle that can successfully
compete in all the events described in the FSAE Rules.

The vehicle should have very high performance in terms of acceleration, braking
and handling and be sufficiently durable. Additional design factors to be
considered include: aesthetics, cost, ergonomics, maintainability,
manufacturability, and reliability. The design process will be done in CAD
software Solidworks along with simulation car chassis and other parts in
Solidworks and ANSYS.
