(1) Host I/O delay during the acquisition of performance information (Criticality – Mid)
Item Description
Contents While DAMP/SNM/Hicommand acquires performance information via the LAN, host I/O may
delay. When commands that are to be used exclusively (such as Persistent Reserve Out) are
finished while the Linked commands from LAN are active, the subsequent have to wait a long
time if the LAN transfer is delayed.
When all of the following conditions are met, the problem may occur:
1. DAMP/SNM /Hicommand issues linked commands to the subsystem from the LAN
2. LAN obstacle occurs
3. Host issues exclusive is commands. (See ECN DF600-306- Appdx A)

(2) Host connection failure by an HDD block (Criticality – Mid)


Item Description
Contents A host may fail to access the LU after an HDD block condition. This is due to a bug in the
Online Verify processing of PDEV time-out.
When all of the following conditions are met, the problem may occur:
1. An HDD command timeout is detected by online verify processing
2. A command from LAN(configuration setting or login process for password protection) starts
executing just after the referenced timeout

(3) PIN Over on the USP (Criticality – Mid)


Item Description
Contents PIN over in USP may occur by an HDD block in the External Storage (9500 connected to USP).
When all of the following conditions are met, the problem may occur:
1. The external storage (9500V) connected to USP
2. Correction READ is started due to an HDD block on 9500
3. An HDD command timeout occurs during the above correction READ operation
