Faulty Positioning Module 1

Error Description:

• System PAC error (faulty positioning module 1)

Affected Module:

• Track 1

Note: 0 display at PA Control back panel instead of 1.

Error Symptoms:

• PA Control cannot proceed on Automatic Mode via Stop, Esc, Start.


• Faulty positioning module 1 message is being displayed on PA Control panel.

Trouble Shooting Steps and Findings:

• Check PA Control program and Parameters.


Result: Program directory contains program files. However, some files are possibly
missing.
• Check Output registers.
Result: All registers are 0.

Corrective Actions:

• Clear files from the memory.


• Re-initialize the PAC.
• Reload PAC backup program

Backup Reloading Procedure:

1. At PA Control, Clear Program Memory


2. Re-initialize the PAC
3. Connect RS232 serial interface cable (male) to PAC 2 service terminal.
4. Connect RS232 serial interface cable (female) connector to service PC.
5. At service PC, open WinPROPAC.exe
6. Select COM1 and 9600 for Interface and Baud rate respectively.
Settings ---> WinPROPAC ---> Serial Interface
7. Select COM1 and 9600 for Interface and Baud rate respectively.
Settings ---> PA Control ---> RS232 interface
8. Select COM1 and 9600 for Interface and Baud rate respectively.
Device Manager ---> Ports (Service PC)
9. Select correct PAC program to be loaded from Backup directory.
File ---> Configuration ---> Choose and Save the Program
10. Load Backup program
Data Exchange ---> Download ---> Start
11. Wait download process to be completed
Note: Download status should be all GREEN
12. Restart PA Control
13. Perform Machine Homing
