Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Today’s readings challenge us to think about who our neighbor is. This includes the
lonely person next door and the elderly widow down the street. But it also includes
the demanding child, the rebellious teenager, the withdrawn spouse or the difficult in-
law. Let’s include those with whom we live and are related as “neighbors.” Treat them
with the “Gospel Good Neighbor Policy” of unconditional love, forgiveness and
compassion and watch the results.
365 Holy Hours were kept before the Blessed Sacrament this past week. We have
three new adorers: Bill Biagetti, Sam & Jamie Murawski. May God bless you and
keep you, many thanks for your commitment. We are presently without a vacancy.
However, it does not mean that we do not need new adorers. We have multiple
hours with only one adorer and all of us need to establish a closer relationship with
our Lord Jesus Christ. Call 330-690-9661 to commit.

Pastor’s Formed Pick of the Week: “The Roots of the Crisis”

The clergy sexual abuse scandals have rocked the Catholic Church and caused a crisis
of faith (and of evangelization) for many. When facing such a daunting and terrible crisis, it can
be difficult to find the right way forward.
In this talk, Dr. Tim Gray explains with conviction and insight that to make any real and
lasting change, we must keep faith, and look closely at the deep roots behind this crisis. Times
of great scandal and corruption in the Church can be followed by times of even greater renewal
and revival, if faithful men and women will enter the constructive conflict that truth requires.

Christ’s Peace!

Charitable Giving Ideas for 2019 - Did you know that gifting appreciated stock (held more than
one year) to a charitable organization such as Catholic Charities or your parish may allow you to
deduct the stock’s full value and bypass capital gains tax? In addition, if you are 70 ½ or older,
you may be able to reduce your taxable income this year with a gift made directly from your IRA
to a qualified charity such as Catholic Charities or your parish. Your accountant or IRA
administrator can help you understand how the IRA Charitable Rollover works and the particular
steps you can take to lower your taxes and help Catholic Charities, your parish or a diocesan
ministry. Learn more by contacting Sandy Lucas of the Catholic Community Foundation at (216)

As part of the mission of St. Augustine Culture of Life's ministry is, "TO RE-ESTABLISH ALL THINGS IN
CHRIST", (Ephesians 1:10) it would do well for us all in the current climate of our country to ponder the
words of Pope Pius XI, Quad. Anno (1931)”No one can be at the same time; a sincere Catholic and a true
Socialist." Remember, Our Blessed Mother's warning at Fatima Portugal ““If men do not stop offending
God...Russia will spread its errors throughout the world..." The message of Fatima is now more urgent
than ever. St. Augustine Culture of Life meets the First Tuesday's of the month following Mass and
Benediction, contact Lynn Willig @(330)472-9452 for more information.
