I. COURSE INFORMATION
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course is an introduction to franchising as a method of retail business in which the investor/franchisee makes an investment in the form of a franchise fee in
exchange for the right to promote goods, services, and/or processes directly to the public. It provides a discussion of the necessary steps to successfully enter
franchising, basic operations of franchise systems and the legal context in which they operate. It also examines the franchisor-franchisee relationship that brings with
it an interdependent contractual obligation that is legally binding upon both parties. Current issues of vital importance to franchising are also explored.
