Checklist for your check-out

The accommodation has to look the same way it did on the day you
moved in!

Your appointment for the check-out: Please inform your landlord about your departure time! At
the check out your landlord will come to your flat/apartment to check if everything is clean and if
something is broken. Then you return the key and the receipt. If the apartment is in order, you
will get back your deposit.

Please regard the following things:

1. The apartment has to be clean:
Dust all the surfaces
Remove all stains
Hoover the entire apartment
Wipe the floors in the kitchen and the bathroom
Clean the bathroom (sink, toilet, shower/bathtub)
Make sure to clean the kitchen, especially the stove plate and the inside of both
oven and refrigerator
The refrigerator and the closets have to be completely empty (if all students are
moving out of the apartment)
Decalcify kettle and coffeemaker
In case the apartment is not properly cleaned according to the directives, a professional
cleaning will be hired at the cost of 16 Euros per hour. The costs will be deducted from
your deposit.

2. Make sure to remove the garbage in the apartment. Please do not dispose the entire
trash at the day of moving since that will cause an overflow of the garbage can. Best you
start with the dispose today. Do not hoard the trash until the last day!

3. Make sure to remove all items that were not in the apartment before, in particular
furniture and dishes you bought for the duration of your stay.

4. Please make sure to keep your receipt over your key deposit (EUR 100) ready for the
check-out. You received the receipt when you checked in. If you cannot find it, please
contact the landlord before your check-out. Since the money cannot be returned in cash without
receipt, it would be transferred to you if you do not have it. Please note that
transfers outside the European Union usually require fees so that you might not receive
the whole amount of EUR 100.

5. Please be ready for your journey before your check-out time: Have your suitcases packed
and make sure the apartment is tidy. Check-out means that you have to leave the
apartment on the determined time.

Important: When you check out, you are the one responsible for the condition of the
apartment! If your flat mate(s) stay in the apartment or move out later, the apartment still
has to be clean and tidy completely at the time of your check-out. Promises that your flat
mate(s) will clean up later will not be accepted. If your apartment is not tidy when you move
out, we give you 30 minutes time to clean and remedy the deficiencies. Otherwise we will
keep your deposit and hire a cleaning service at your cost.
