Highlights:

1. As per position paper prepared by the Executive Office, the undersigned express the Agency’s full support
to the proposed bill by the Honorable Ana Theresia “Risa”Hontiveros Baraquel;
2. The undersigned also requested the Honorable Senator and the Committee to change the name “Public”to
“Philippine”;
3. On the response of the Honorable Senator, it was duly noted and that proper action will be taken to correct
the mistake;
4. Later on, the Honorable Senator informed the undersigned that the correction has been made by the
Committee.
5. The public hearing adjourned at around 3:00PM.

Per instruction to send one of my staff to attend the Public Hearing of the Committee on Health and Demography
chaired by the Honorable Ana Theresia “Risa” Hontiveros Baraquel at Senator Tanada Room, Senate of the
Philippines last 15 February 2017. Hereunder are the highlights of the said Committee Hearing.

 Per Position Paper prepared by your office, our representative express the Agency’s full support of the bill
and once passed into law, the Agency will help on its information campaign activities.

 Our representative also requested the changing of the name “Public Information Agency” to “Philippine
Information Agency”.

 Said request was properly noted and acted upon by the Honorable Senator and the Committee.

 The Committee also requested the presence of the agency on its future public hearings regarding SB 387 or
otherwise known as “AN ACT ESTABLISHING A NATIONAL HEALTH PROMOTION INSTITUTE TO
MAINSTREAM HEALTH PROMOTION IN THE PHILIPPINE HEALTH CARE SYSTEM, PROVIDING FOR A
HEALTH PROMOTION FUND AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES”.
