PROGRAM FOR PROPER MAINTENANCE AND MONITORING OF PHYSICAL PLANT

A. STRUCTURAL SYSTEM
 There will be a regular through inspection of the structural
system of each working area of the laboratory.
 The maintenance activities performed should be properly
documented.
B. BUILDING SERVICES AND UTILITIES
A. Light and power system
 Conduct regular check-up of all fixture mounted on the walls
of the clinical laboratory and blood station.
 To acquire annual certificate of electrical inspection from
the local authorities to ensure that the electrical
installation of the hospital complies with the rules and
safety requirements.
B. Water supply sytem
 Conduct a regular water source analysis at least quarterly
approved as safe and potable.
C. Ventilation and air system
 The air-conditioning system should be checked quarterly to
ensure the compliance with the relevant safety requirements.
 Monitor room temperature daily and twice a day
D. Fire
 An annual inspection conducted of local fire department to
ensure that building meet the on fire safety.
 The activities are being documented and a certificate is given
for documentation.
E. Plumbing
 Checking of plumbing system not only for water system this
including plumbing system for water and human waste. A
quarterly inspection for leaks and clogs.
C. INFESTATION
A. PEST AND VERMIN
 Conduct a semiannual inspection of closet , drawers, under
sink and woods for sign of infestation.
 Fumigate at least twice a year for the treatment and control
of pest and other insect.
