Salaries
Number of salaried players drop 1 per year: 20 in 2017, 16 2021
Number of players on NWSL salaries is larger
I've divided salaried players into 2 groups to allow tiers
Top group shows maximum pay if player is on every roster
Here, top group is always 10, approximating typical year
Non-salaried (incl. those on NWSL but not WNT salaries)
Camp bonuses go to those called in but don't make game roster
Camp bonuses tiered for length (<>10 days), exp (<>1 camp)
For these scenarios, all camp bonuses are the lowest value
Roster appearance pay rises with 8th roster appearance (Group 3 and Group 4 here)
Attendance (ONLY home friendlies and home World Cup qualifiers)
Bonus is split among gameday roster
Tournaments
1st-place bonuses are awarded for the SheBelieves Cup and the Tourn of Nations
I've assigned SBC bonuses to the Algarve Cup, in which the WNT no longer plays
Likenesses
The team is given a lump sum; here divided between Groups 1-3
Post-event tours (formerly the Victory Tour)
Medalists from the World Cup and Olympics get an extra bonus for a 4-game tour
The World Cup roster has 23 players; the Olympic roster is 18
World Cup and Olympic bonuses
The "max" assumes 9 points and 7 games
Bonuses (split by 23 for World Cup, 18 for Oly) are cumulative per round through the semifinals
Example: A semifinalist gets bonuses for the KO rd, QF + SF
MEN'S CBA
Salaries
Men haven't received salaries in this century
Tier 1 (Group 1 on MNT page; 5 players) is designed to show max pay
Group 2 varies between 10 and 13 players here
Group 2 players are on at least half of gameday rosters
Groups 1-2 get the max World Cup qualifying bonus
Non-salaried
If salaries are given, these players won't get them
Group 3 (which players 25-50% of games) gets second tier of World Cup qualifying bonuses
Group 4 players get few games, third tier of Cup qualifying bonuses
Number of players per year is btwn 50 and 55 (which is typical)
Attendance (ONLY home friendlies and home World Cup qualifiers)
Same as WNT: Per-ticket bonus to pool, split among roster
Tournaments
MNT usually doesn't play in Copa America, but it hosted in 2016
Men won 2013 and 2017 Gold Cups; fourth in 2019 / fourth in 2016 Copa America
One-off, one-game CONCACAF Cup is treated as a friendly. USA lost, anyway
World Cup qualifying bonuses
Players Association determines how pool bonus is split; I've tried to approximate with 3 tiers
World Cups
Similar to WNT: Pool bonuses, cumulative for KO rounds, etc.
Olympics
Under-23s and three overage players can play in Oly; bonuses aren't stated in CBA
The USOC awards $37,500 to gold medalists, $22,500 for silver, $15,000 bronze
