TITLE : Employee Satisfaction of STAR FEED MILL, Villupuram

INTRODUCTION

Employee satisfaction, also known as job satisfaction, is the extent to which an individual
is happy with their job and the role it plays in their life. The extent to which employers prioritise
employee satisfaction depends on the employer and the industry. So Employee satisfaction is
very important in bringing profit to the organization.

Employee satisfaction is a broad term used by the HR industry to describe how satisfied
or content employees are with elements like their jobs, their employee experience, and the
organizations they work for. Employee satisfaction is one key metric that can help determine the
overall health of an organization, which is why many organizations employ regular surveys to
measure employee satisfaction and track satisfaction trends over time. A high satisfaction level
indicates that employees are happy with how their employer treats them

Bone meal is a mixture of finely and coarsely ground animal bones and slaughter-house
waste products. It is used as an organic fertilizer for plants and as a nutritional supplement for
animals. As a slow-release fertilizer, bone meal is primarily used as a source of phosphorus and
protein. Bone meal, along with a variety of other meals, especially meat meal, is used as a
dietary/mineral supplement for livestock. It is used to feed mono gastric animals with bone meal
from ruminants, and vice versa, to prevent the spread of bovine spongiform encephalopathy
(BSE) or "mad cow disease". Proper heat control can reduce salmonella contaminants.

Bone meal once was often used as a human dietary calcium supplement. Research in the
1980s found that many bone meal preparations were contaminated with lead and other toxic
metals, and is no longer recommended as a calcium source.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM :

It is very important to maintain the employee satisfaction level in any organization.


Welfare of employees in an organization contributes great benefits to the organization. In an
organization, satisfaction of workers means workforce that is motivated and committed high
quality performance. There are various component limit that limit to the employee satisfication.
There are pay promotion, benefits, working environment, safety, productivity and the work itself.
Each of this factors contribute into employee satisfaction differently. To the employee
satisfaction brings great pleasurable emotional state that often leads to a positive work attitude of
satisfied worker is most likely to be creative, flexible, innovative and loyal.

It is very important for Star Feed Mill to know its employee satisfaction in order to better
understand their needs and to satisfy them as employees are the asset of an organization. It is
though the employee, the organization attain its objective. The purpose of the study is to
understand the level of satisfaction of the employees to Star Feed Mill and suggest the area of
improvement if any.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY:

1. To study and analyses the various factors affecting the employee satisfaction level of
the employees
2. To understand the problems of employees in working condition.

DATA SOURCE AND METHODOLOGY:

1. TYPE OF STUDY

The type of study is descriptive study where the data is being studied and analysed by
using tabular and graphical methods which used to organize, describe and summarise the
characteristics of the information clearly.

2. DATA SOURCE

Both primary and secondary data will be used.

1. Primary data are collected by conducting personnel interview using


questionnaire.
2. Secondary data will be taken from the records maintained by Star Feed Mill,
Villupuram in relevant articles, journals and website sources, etc.
3.SAMPLING DESIGN

i. Selection of location
Thiruvannamalai Main Road, Kedar, Villupuram, Tamilnadu.
ii. Selection Of Organisation
Star Feed Mill, Villupuram, Tamilnadu.
iii. Selection of respondents
The respondents are the employees from Star Feed Mill. The respondents will be
50 in number.

METHOD OF DATA COLLECTION

The primary data will be collected from the respondents by setting up a questionnaire
using random sample technique by random numbers. and the secondary data will be collected
from the informations available in the company website and the record maintained by the
company.

VARIABLES SELECTED FOR STUDY

Dependent Variable and Independent Variable are used.

Dependent Variable (Y) – Employee Satisfaction


Independent Variable (X) :
 Personal characters related variables ( Motivation, Stress, Health, etc)
 Environmental factors related variables ( Work condition, Nature of organization,
Co-workers etc )
 Other variables ( Recognition, fringe benefits )
 Attitude of employees towards Star Feed Bone Mill.

PERIOD OF STUDY

The period of study is one month. The study will be conducted in August 2019.
STATISTICAL TOOLS PROPOSED FOR THE STUDY

The statistical tool used for the study is simple percentage analysis. It is the percentage method
used for comparing certain features. The collected data represented in the form of tables and
graphs in order to give effective visualization of comparison method.

Percentage responded = (no. of respondents / total no of respondents ) 100

OPERATIONAL CONCEPTS AND DEFINITIONS

Employee satisfaction, also known as job satisfaction, is the extent to which an individual

very important in bringing profit to the organization.

SCOPE OF STUDY

The study aims to understand the employee satisfaction in Star Feed Mill which covers
various allowances, remuneration , work freedom, health of employee etc. The scope is to
understand the employee satisfaction. The outcome of the study will suggest to measure the
better employees satisfaction level of Star Feed Mill. So they can rectify the probles if any and
can work to reach the organization to its great.

LIMITATIONS OF STUDY

• This is subjected to basis and prejudices of the respondents and hence 100 % of accuracy
cannot be obtained

• Field study will took quite long time to get appropriate results.

• The findings are based on the responses of the employee. So if any error or bias it may
affect the findings.

• The period of the study was too short. So it is not possible to get the relevant information
within the stipulated time.
ORGANISATION OF THE REPORT

The entire project is chapterized into 7 chapters. Chapter 1 consists of Introduction which
deals with introduction, research problem, scope and objectives. Chapter 2 deals with company
profile. Chapter 3 consists of literature review. Chapter 4 consists of research methodology
which have quick review of sample design, research design, sample size, data collection,
statistical tools, limitations. Chapter 5 consists of data analysis and interpretation. Chapter 6
consists of findings, suggestions and conclusions followed by chapter 7 bibliography.
