2017-2019
GOAL 1: Students in grades K-3 will move from below 50% proficient as measured by Beginning of the Year Reading 3D data to 65%
proficient as measured by End of the Year Reading 3D data. Reading proficiency for 2016-2017 as measured by Reading 3D data is
61%.
Students in grades 3-6 will be at 70% proficiency as measured by End of Grade Test, level 3 and above, in English Language
Arts/Reading. Reading proficiency for 2016-2017 is 66.46%.
GOAL 2: Increase total proficiency for assigned standard for each grade level by 5% as indicated on EOG Goal Summary Sheets. 3rd
Grade Measurement and Data from 53.8% to 58.8% (2016-2017 – 63.1%); 4th Grade Measurement & Data from 54.4% to 59.4%
(2016-2017 – 55.7%); 5th Grade Numbers & Operations: Fractions Sense from 54.9% to 59.9% (2016-2017 – 61.8%); 6th Grade
Expressions & Equations from 50.8% to 55.8% (2016-2017 – 59.4%).
GOAL 3: Improve staff’s perception of students at Westwood following rules of conduct from 84% to 92% as determined by the
Teachers’ Working Conditions survey.
2016-2017:
Lunch detention went form 18 in 2015-2016 to 5 in 2016-2017 as given by administration
Overall discipline incidents went down from 121 in 2015-2016 to 81 in 2016-2017.
OSS went down from 31 2015-2016 to 28 in 2016-2017.
OBJECTIVE: Teachers will model and teach Digital Citizenship by the ethical, respectful, and safe use of digital tools and resources.
GOAL 4: 100% of classroom teachers will plan and teach 1 unit each semester on digital citizenship and copyright as evidenced by
data uploaded to prove they mastered the Digital Citizenship focus of the NC Digital Learning Competencies.
2016-2017
Two district teams have been formed. Kim Miller and Earl Pennington are the Westwood representatives.
