ALBUQUERQUE, NM- Today the Albuquerque Area Fire Fighters, Local 244 of the International
Association of Fire Fighters announced their endorsement for Albuquerque City Council District 2
Candidate Zack Quintero.

 As City Councilor Zack plans to create additional BLS mobile health care units to help with
behavioral health and addiction issues in downtown and throughout the district.
 Under Zack’s leadership multiple initiatives will be implemented to tackle the ever growing
opioid epidemic and crime that is plaguing our city.
 Zack will use his background in labor force and resource based economics to create a retention
plan to ensure we keep our youth employed here at home after graduation.
 His knowledge, drive and dedication will bring about much needed change for the
citizens of District 2 as well as the City of Albuquerque.

“I am proud to receive the support of International Association of Fire Fighters, Local 244”
said Quintero. “District 2 is at a crossroads and we need someone who will work tirelessly to address
issues such as crime, homelessness, and addiction head on. A pillar of my campaign is focusing first
and foremost on public safety -- This endorsement is personally important to me because I grew up in
a family of public servants, so I know the commitment they make to our community. I will cultivate a
strong partnership with all of our brothers and sisters in labor to achieve our common goal, building
the city we deserve. I’ll never stop fighting for the people who put their lives on the line every
day to keep our communities safe.”

“We know that as City Councilor Zack will work towards meeting the needs of our community and
help us to succeed in providing the best emergency services achievable in New Mexico as an
advocate for public safety.” – Justin Cheney, President IAFF Local 244
