Web Based HMI FAST/TOOLS Modular Software

The HMI of FAST/TOOLS is fully based on a distributed Web client/server architecture.
FAST/TOOLS will bring changes in the information power of process mimics and how
display engineering is performed, enabling an evolution to a much more intuitive and
advanced approach in process visualisation. The results of these improvements will reduce
operating faults and display development as well as maintenance costs.
The FAST/TOOLS Web-HMI consists of a Web-HMI server and a Web-HMI client that can either
run separately from the FAST/TOOLS server or be installed altogether with the FAST/TOOLS
server environment. FAST/TOOLS Editor
FAST/TOOLS HMI is web enabled, making it possible for a browser such as Microsoft Explorer

Very high performance
The FAST/TOOLS software kernel has a
very small footprint, and its efficient design
means low CPU usage. This makes FAST/
TOOLS very reliable, and highly performant
on even the largest systems - with more
than 100,000 field signals, for example
– as well as on Commercial Off The Shelf
(COTS) hardware platforms.
Web Based HMI
The new visualisation editor is based on
scalable vector graphics (SVG). Shapes
and symbols can be intuitively manipulated
in virtually any way.
The editor combines the power of today’s
most sophisticated graphical editors in a
single package, incorporating advanced
features like dynamic layers and visibility
groups.
The FAST/TOOLS Web-HMI enables a
rich user experience to be delivered to the
client location with a minimum of fuss by
means of a zero deployment strategy.
Data Archiving
FAST/TOOLS supports long-term data
archiving and storage. Stored data is
available for online trending, reporting,
analysis, historical alarm/event displays,
with a defined storage life of hours, weeks
- or even years. Historical data may also be
backed up to CD, DVD or tape.

pumps can be organized as objects with
defined properties and characteristics,

XML OPC ODBC Java

eXtensible Markup Language (XML) is
designed to improve the functionality of the
Web by providing more flexible and adaptable information
identification.The ANSI/ISA-95 Enterprise/Control System
Integration standard, for example, helps companies to
effectively and efficiently integrate control systems into their
supply chain. Implementations based on XML definitions
reduce the time and errors between the information
exchange.
OPC (OLE for Process Control) is an
industry standard created with the
collaboration of a number of leading
worldwide hardware and software suppliers. Yokogawa is a
founding member of the OPC foundation group.
ODBC (Open DataBase Connectivity
standard) offers integration of the
FAST/TOOLS system with any ODBC enabled application
such as an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system,
MS-Excel™, or Real Time DataBase Management System
(RDBMS) like Oracle.
Java is a programming language originally developed
by Sun Microsystems and released in 1995 as a core
component of Sun’s Java platform. The language
derives much of its syntax from C and C++ but has a simpler
object model and fewer low-level facilities. One characteristic,
platform independence, means that programs written in
the Java language must run similarly on any supported
hardware/operating-system platform. One should be able to
write a program once, compile it once, and run it anywhere.
