1 MNP Call Flow Design

1.1 MNP Call Related Flow

1.1.1 Non-Ported/Imported Case
1.1.1.1 MO Call
A MobiFone Mobile call to a MobiFone Mobile (Non-Port or Ported In Subscriber).
MNP STP will process the IDP message being sent by the MSC to the IN and look-up the
DN in its NPDB. Since the DN belong to MBF, the STP will prefix the MBF RN and route
the message to the IN.
MNP STP will process the SRI being sent by the MSC to the HLR and look-up the DN in
its NPDB. Since the DN belong to MBF, the STP will route the message to the HLR (without
prefix any RN).

1.1.1.2 MT Call coming from OLO network
OLO Mobile call to a MobiFone Mobile (Non-Port or Ported in Subscriber).
MNP STP will process the SRI being sent by the GMSC to the HLR and do RN checking.
RN number in the SRI message is MBF RN, the STP will remove the RN prefix and route
the message to the HLR.

1.1.1.3 MT Call coming from International network

Call from International Network to a MobiFone Mobile.
IGW will ask MNP STP the information of B number by sending an SRI request to MNP
STP. MNP STP look-up the DN in its NPDB. Since the DN belong to MBF, the STP will
send back to IGW the SRI response message with MBF RN.
Figure 1-4 MT call - International to MBF Mobile (Use IGW)

Figure 1-5 MT call - International to MBF Mobile (use IGW) and T-CSI Flag= 1
1.1.2 Ported Out Case
In case the subscriber calls another subscriber who is Ported out of MBF network or Non-
Ported of another network then the STP needs to prefix the RN for the network to which
the subscriber is belonging to.

1.1.2.4 MO Call
A MobiFone Mobile call to another Network Mobile (Ported out of MBF network or Non-
Ported of another network).
MNP STP will process the IDP being sent by the MSS to the IN and look-up the DN in its
NPDB. Since the DN belong to another network, the STP will prefix the RN of that network
and route the message to the IN.
The Connect message sent by IN included the OLO RN. MSS will send the ISUP message
with OLO RN to GMSC.

1.1.2.5 MT Call coming from OLO network
OLO Mobile call to a Ported Out MobiFone Mobile
MNP STP will process the SRI being sent by the GMSC to the HLR and look-up the DN in
its NPDB. Since the DN no longer belong to MBF network, MNP STP will response with
UDTS message

1.1.2.6 MT Call coming from International network
Call from International Network to a Ported out MBF Mobile.
IGW will ask MNP STP the information of B number by sending an SRI request to MNP
STP. MNP STP look-up the DN in its NPDB. Since the DN belong to Other Operator, the
STP will send back to IGW the SRI response message with other RN.

1.1.4 Call Forward

A call forwarding scenario is handled as a new call setup using the same mechanisms (MO
call flow in section 5.1.1.1 and 5.1.2.1).

1.2 Non-Call Related Scenarios

1.2.1 Non-Ported/Imported Case
A MBF Mobile send SMS to a MBF Mobile (Non-Port or Ported in Subscriber).
MNP STP will process the IDP_SMS being sent by the SMSC to the IN and look-up the DN
in its NPDB. Since the DN belong to MBF, the STP will prefix the MBF RN and route the
message to the IN.
MNP STP will process the SRI_SM being sent by the SMSC to the HLR and look-up the
DN in its NPDB. Since the DN is MBF subscriber, the STP will route the message to the
HLR (without prefix any RN).

1.2.2 Ported Out Case

1.2.2.1 MO SMS
A MobiFone Mobile SMS to another Network Mobile (Ported out of MBF network or Non-
Ported of another network).
MNP STP will process the IDP_SMS being sent by the MSS to the IN and look-up the DN
in its NPDB. Since the DN belong to another network, the STP will prefix the RN of that
network and route the message to the IN.
MNP STP will process the SRI_SMS being sent by the SMSC to the HLR and look-up the
DN in its NPDB. Since the DN belong to another network, the STP will prefix the RN of
that network and send the message to other network.

1.2.2.2 MT SMS – Loop Prevention

OLO Mobile sends SMS to Ported out MBF Mobile
MNP STP will process the SRI_SM being sent from other Network to the HLR and look-up
the DN in its NPDB. The DN belong to another network (ported out) and the RN match with
home RN (MBF RN), to prevent looping, MNP STP will response with UDTS:
