How to change the Standalone Serial number without uninstalling/reinstalling

There is a way to change the installed Serial Number (SN) without changing files or hacking registry keys. The catch is that you must be able to run the
program. So if you're past your 30 day trial, then I'm sorry, but you will have to uninstall/reboot/install with the correct serial number, reboot and activate it.
It also works on the Suites and typically you change it in one program and it changes the serial number for the others too. Pretty Sweet!

I'll be showing you how to do this in AutoCAD 2015

To change the installed Serial Number (SN):
Once in AutoCAD, enter ABOUT at the command line and hit enter.

Or you can click the dropdown arrow next to the circle with the question mark and select About

Click the Product Information button.

Click the Update button. Note: if you don't have an update button then maybe your "License Type" is set to "Network" (see image right below the serial
number).

Enter the new serial number and click Activate.

It may bring up the Activation windows again, just walk through it if you have an internet connection. Some places with Proxy Servers or no internet, so you
will need to call to get the code emailed to you.
So, if you have an internet connection, click Activate.

Ensure "Connect now and activate." is selected and click Next.

Note: if you do not have an internet connection, once you call (800-551-1490) for an Activation Code, you will select "I have an activation code" instead. Do not
re-use your old code as it will not work.

All done! Click Finish!

Always verify, go back to About>Product Information and see that the serial number has changed and it should say either Permanent or provide an Expiration
date.║

As a final check, reboot the computer and verify again.

If you changed the serial number for a Suite, then test the one you changed first and then try another program within the suite.
