The workshop aims to: 1, Develop knowledge, skills, understanding, and appreciation for folk and traditional dances as bridges of cultures and people of the Philippines and Asia, 2. Upgrade competencies in teaching traditional Philippine dances among teachers, dance trainers, choreographers, directors, dancers, and dance enthusiasts, 3, Provide teachers with resource materials on dance such as dance books, music CDs, videos, hand-outs, etc., and; 4. Provide a forum to discuss significant issues and concerns of folk dancers, dance teachers, trainers, choreographers, and arfs & culture councils. the target porlicipants are dancers, teachers in all levels, dance trainers, teacher, in charge of dance groups, directors, choreographers. members of dance groups, cullure and aris officers and personnel, and cultural events coordinators. CABRAL, Regional Director, DepEd NCR ‘Misamis St, Bago Bantay, Quezon City Dear Dr. Cabral, Inline withthe celebration of the Society's 70" Founding Anniversary, the Philipine Folk Dance Society (PFDS), the City College of Angeles (CCA) and the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) will conduct the 2019 National Folk Dance Workshop from May 20 to 24, 2019 at the Folk Arts Theater, CCP Comples, Pasay City. ‘The project is being conducted in partnership with the Kaloob Philippine Music & Dance Ensemble, the Philippine Normal University Institute of Physical Education, Health, Recreation, Dance, and Sports (IPHERDS), and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCA). ‘The workshop aims to: 1. Develop knowledge, sills, understanding and appreciation for folk and traditional dances as bridges of cultures and people ofthe Philippines and Asia 2. Upgrade competencies in teaching traditional Philippine dances among teachers, dance tanrs, choreographers, directors, dancers, and dance enthusiasts, 3. Provide teachers with resource materials on dance such as dance books, musi¢ CDs, videos, band-outs, et. 4 Provide a forum to discuss significant issues and concems of folk dancers, dance teachers, trainers, choreographers and ants & culture councils ‘The S-day workshop includes dance sessions, panel discussion, lecture-demonstrations, fora, street dance, cultural shows, regional presentations, city tour and a culminating showcase by all the participants. This will be highlighted by the Gawad Sayaw Diamante Awards in recognition of the PFDS active life time members, dance researchers, contributors and partner agencies and institutions. Invited to attend are dancers, teachers in all levels, dance trainers, teachers in charge of dance groups, directors, choreographers, members of dance groups, culture and arts officers & personnels, and cultural events coordinators. 'A registration fee of Four Thousand Pesos (P4,000) shall be charged to cover workshop expenses including workshop materials — dance book and CD, supplies and kits, honoraria for speakers, resource persons, staff, performing groups, and other incidental expenses. Registration fee for students is Three ‘Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (P3,500) upon presentation of official valid student ID. Participants, shall take care of their own transportation, accommodations and meals. Assistance shall be provided in the arrangements for accommodation on a first come first served basis in selected schools, ormitories, hotels and other lodging areas in the city especially for participants coming from the regions. In this connection, may we request for a REGIONAL MEMORANDUM to all concen for wide dissemination of information on the above-mentioned project.
