Dear Friends
This year the Purchas Cup - the ‘Bledisloe Cup’ of inclusive rugby - will be held in Brisbane on the
13th and 14th of September. The Chargers will play three games against our inclusive-rugby
brothers from across Australia and New Zealand in this the two-day tournament.
This is the first update from the Chargers tour sub-committee with two important tasks you must
complete during April 2019 to ensure we’re on track to Charge Brisbane in September.
TASK 1: Register for the tour, even if you think you can’t attend
Register for the tour at bit.ly/Chargers-Purchas-Register even if you can’t attend or are not sure yet.
We’ll have lots of support for players in the leadup to the tour, so please register to receive these
important updates.
Touring can be expensive, but if you need help we can provide support
Although expensive, touring internationally and in Australia is one of the best things about being in
the Chargers – the fun you have is worth the hassle and cost! If you’re worried about money, have a
confidential discussion with our Treasurer or one of the Player Liaisons. Our player support fund
can assist with touring expenses.
On the reverse of this pamphlet we’ve included some general information that will help you to plans
for your trip. That’s all from the tour sub-committee for now — we’ll keep you up to date regularly.
Kind regards

Getting to Brisbane
All tour participants need to book and pay for their own flights. It’s a good idea
to book your flights early. You may want to consider setting up sale alerts with $200 to $500
your favourite airline or a site like SkyScanner.com to catch a great deal. If you
have the time you can also get to Brisbane by bus, train or car.
