“The Speckled Band”

The story is about a woman named Helen Stoner, who seek help to Mr. Sherlock Holmes. One
morning Ms. Helen Stoner went to Mr. Holmes’s home in London, looking tired and unhappy she came
to see Mr. Holmes and Watson to ask for help.

Mr. Holmes accommodate the young lady and hear out her story, Ms. Helen began to tell her
story to them. Ms. Stoner and her sister Julia lives with her stepfather Dr. Grimsby Roy Lott, his family
was once very rich but became poor when Mr. Roy Lott’s was born so he studied to be a Doctor, went to
India and married Helen’s mother.

Helen’s mother was a rich woman, which is why his stepfather wasn’t poor anymore. Eight years
ago their mother died in an accident so his stepfather got all her mother’s money. However if they
decide to marry their stepfather will give them 250 pound every year.

Ms. Stoner continues to tell a story about his stepfather, her stepfather is very violent, and has a
wild animal living outside their house in India.
