1. NAME OF THE PRODUCT


COYDEN® 25%.

2. QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE COMPOSITION


Each 1 g contains 250 mg clopidol.
For a full list of excipients see section 6.1.

3. PHARMACEUTICAL FORM
Premix for medicated feeding stuff.

4. PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Coyden® 25% manifests greatest anticoccidial activity during the early schizogonic
stages of coccidia life cycle - sporozoite and triphozoite phase (day 1-2). If the product is
administered more than 24 hours after invasion, its activity is considerably reduced.
When administered orally in the recommended doses, clopidol is absorbed by the
gastrointestinal tract, with maximum concentrations reached in liver and kidneys.
Therapeutic concentrations are maintained during the whole period of product
administration. Clopidol is excreted unchanged with urine and faeces.

5. CLINICAL PARTICULARS

5.1. Target species


Chickens for fattening; Chickens reared for laying up to 16 weeks of age; Turkeys.

5.2. Indications for use, specifying the target species


As an aid in the prevention of caecal and intestinal coccidiosis in chickens for fattening
and chickens reared for laying up to 16 weeks of age caused by E. tenella, E. necatrix, E.
acervulina, E. maxima, E. brunette, E. mivati.
As an aid in the prevention of coccidiosis in turkeys caused by E. adenoides, E.
maleagrimitis, and E. gallopavonis.

5.3. Contraindications
Do not use in case of sensitivity to the active substance and/or to any of the excipients
of Coyden® 25%.
Do not feed to laying hens.
Do not feed clopidol to caged layer replacements after 16 weeks of age.
Do not administer clopidol to birds intended for breeding purposes.

5.4. Undesirable effects, frequency and seriousness


None known.

5.5. Special precaution for use


Do not feed to laying hens.

5.6. Use during pregnancy and lactation


Do not use in laying hens.

5.7. Interaction with other medicaments and other forms of interaction


Do not mix with other anticoccidials.

5.8. Posology and method of administration


Coyden® 25% should be blended thoroughly into the finished feed at the following
incorporation rates:
Chickens for fattening: Use 500 grams of Coyden® 25% per metric tonne of feed to
produce feed containing 0.0125% clopidol.
Chickens reared for laying up to 16 weeks of age: Use 500 grams of Coyden® 25% per
metric tonne of feed to produce feed containing 0.0125% clopidol.
Turkeys for fattening: Use 500 grams of Coyden® 25% per metric tonne of feed to
produce feed containing 0.0125% clopidol.

To aid in even distribution of Coyden® 25% in the finished feed, prepare a mixture of
Coyden® 25% in a portion of complete feed ingredient before mixing into the finished
ration. Blend the mixture with the remainder of the finished feed and mix thoroughly.

5.9. Overdose
Overdose may cause inappetence.

5.10. Special warnings for each target species


None.

5.11. Withdrawal periods


Meat: Poultry (broilers and turkeys): 5 days.
Eggs: Not permitted for use in laying birds.

5.12. Special precautions to be taken by the person administering the product to


animals
People with known hypersensitivity to the active substance must not administer the
product.
When mixing, direct contact with the skin and mucous membranes should be avoided.
Accidental ingestion should be avoided. Wear overalls, safety glasses, mask and
impervious gloves when handling or mixing the product. Contaminated clothing
should be removed and any splashes on to the skin should be washed off immediately.
If accidental eye contact occurs, immediately rinse thoroughly with water. Seek medical
advice if irritation persists.
Wash hands after use.

Mineral oil, Fatty acid glyceride, Rice hulls.

6.2. Incompatibilities
None known.

6.3. Shelf life


Shelf-life of the product as packaged for sale: 3 years.
Shelf-life after incorporation in compound feedingstuff: 3 months.

6.4. Special precautions for storage


Store in a dry place protected from direct sunlight at temperatures up to 30°C.
Keep away from the reach of children.

6.5. Nature and contents of container


Polyethylene bags packed into paper bags of 20 kg.
