Region 1 Top 3 Most Wanted Person, Arrested

CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO- The PNP’s anti-criminality campaign scored after the joint police
operatives effected the arrest of the Region 1’s Top 3 Most Wanted Person in Brgy. San Roque, Catillejos,
Zambales on Saturday evening (March 8).

Police Chief Superintendent Romulo E Sapitula, PRO1 Regional Director, identified the suspect as Joel
Fernandez Naniong, 41 years old, married, maintenance crew, native of Manaoag, Pangasinan and a
resident of Purok 3, Brgy Del Pilar, Catillejos, Zambales.

Based on reports, Naniong was apprehended by virtue of Warrants of Arrest for the crime of Murder with
the used of unlicensed firearm docketed as Criminal Case no. U-19140, Robbery docketed as Criminal
Case no. 19175 both issued by Judge Elizabeth L Berdal of RTC Br 47, Urdaneta City, Pangasinan dated
June 17, 2014 and Homicide with Criminal Case no. 18447 issued by Judge Tita D Obinario of RTC Br
45, dated January 22, 2013.

Naniong is also listed Most Wanted Person with DILG monetary reward of Php 165,000 and presently
under the custody of Asingan Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.

The arrest was made by the joint operatives of Internal Security Operations Division, Intelligence Group,
Asingan Municipal Police Station of Pangasinan PPO, Subic Municipal Police Station, Castillejos MPS
and 2nd PMFC of Zambales PPO.

Meanwhile, PCSupt Sapitula lauded the members of the arresting team for the exemplary performance of
police functions and further encouraged all police officers to remain resilient in our drive against
criminality while maintaining stronger partnership in intelligence operation. ###
