Products and Services

Hardware Solutions
OMNI Flow Computers has acquired a leading role in flow measurement technology with its
OMNI 3000 and OMNI 6000 product lines of flow computers, software, controllers and RTUs.
Software Solutions
Instruments of Choice
Major industry users specify OMNIs as their flow Training Solutions
computers of choice on many upgrade and new
projects. They recognize the versatile, built-in
functions of these instruments for measurement
and control - indispensable for pipeline, terminal,
petrochemical and process applications.

Standard software for liquids and

gases
Virtually any fluid or gas, from crude oil, refined
products, LPGs, NGLs, propylene and ethylene to natural gas, carbon dioxide and other
industrial gases can be measured without the expense of custom software support typical of
other computer and RTU manufacturers.

Putting it All Together

OMNI took a systems approach to its product designs. That resulted in an optimum assembly
time for putting together the elements - components, boards, standard software. It shortens
the build cycle and gets the product to the customer on schedule.

I/O boards are quality tested and temperature-trimmed to optimize analog resolution, and
burned-in before shipment for field installation.

Standard Hardware to Match the Application

OMNI has the capability to match its standard products to the
customer's application needs. The non-restrictive I/O bus
design permits any combination of inputs and outputs to meet
most metering, flow and valve control and communication
requirements.

Higher Accuracy Technology

Plug-in I/O modules provide the customer with an assurance of
maximum product life by higher accuracy measurement
technologies such as meter pulse fidelity checking and
HoneywellTM digital transmitter interface modules.

Protecting the Customer's Investment

OMNI has worked hard to ensure that the benefits of new developments in measurement
standards and operations practice are passed on to its customers at minimal expense. OMNI
standard software eliminates field training time and enables customers to connect their
hardware to almost any field equipment in a real-time environment.

Combo Modules Required Metrological Approvals

'A' modules provide four input channels, two selectable as analog only input channels. The Literature
third and fourth input channels are selectable analog or pulse. Two analog outputs are
available.
Software Solutions
'B' modules provide four input channels where the first three process inputs are identical to
the 'A' module and the fourth channel is fixed to provide a periodic time density pulse input.
Training Solutions
One analog output is provided. The number of 'B' type combo modules required are equal to
the number of digital pulse densitometers that are interfacing (see type 'E/D' below).

'E' modules provide two selectable analog inputs and either two single pulse inputs or one
dual pulse input, when pulse fidelity checking is required. One double chronometry detector
switch input and two analog outputs are also provided.

'E/D' modules provide four process inputs including two analogs and two periodic time
density pulse inputs on the third and fourth channels. Two analog outputs are provided.

'H' denotes a four input digital module used solely with Honeywell Smartline™ 3000
transmitters.

'HV' modules have four Honeywell DE™ digital protocol ports dedicated to Honeywell SMV
3000 transmitters. Two analog outputs are provided.

'SV' modules provide two RS-485 channels to be used with Rosemount 3095FB multivariable
transmitters, Micro Motion RFT 9739, Daniel, Instromet, FMC Kongsberg, Caldon and Krohne
ultrasonic devices. There are six analog outputs provided.

To determine the total number of combo modules (Types 'A' + 'B' + 'E' + 'E/D' + 'H' + 'HV' +
'SV') required, the number of temperatures, pressures, densitometers, gravitometers,
differential pressures, turbine/PD meter pick-offs that will have interfacing connections
should be added. Remember to provide for sufficient space for physical I/O. Round the
number up to the nearest increment of four and divide that number by four. Please consult
Omni when 'HV' or 'SV' modules are required.

Digital I/O Modules Required

'1D' (12 digital I/O) is always used when specifying an Omni 3000. An Omni 6000 can use
'2D'. To determine the number of digital I/O modules needed, the number of digital I/O
points required must be added for the total. These include, but are not limited to prover
detector inputs, sampler pulse outputs, control outputs, alarm outputs and control inputs.

Serial / Ethernet I/O Modules Required
