Evaluation Guidelines
The evaluation of Practical Training & Industrial visit (7EETR) consists of the following
components.
1. Attendance in Practical Training & Industrial visit seminar/ project sessions.
2. PowerPoint presentations
3. Training Report Assessment
General Guidelines
1. Each student has to deliver Practical Training & Industrial visit Seminar Presentation with
the help of power point slides. The duration of the presentation will be 10 (8+2) minutes.
2. All students are expected to attend all the seminar sessions as per the time table.
3. Students are expected to be professionally dressed up during delivering and attending the
presentation.
4. Discipline is highly desirable.
5. Report should be as per guide lines.
1. Your presentation must contain definitions, diagrams, formulas and important notes.
2. Introduction to presentation/ Title slide (Context, Topic, Student detail etc.)

Guidelines for Practical Training & Industrial visit Report Writing

The text would consist of the following chapters:

2.3 Supplement
Specific items which are not included in the main body of the text should be put in this
Additional/Supplementary Section. Typically this section includes the following:
a. Appendices are provided to give supplementary items, which is included in the main
text may serve as a distraction and cloud the central theme.
b. References/Bibliography
All works or studies referred to in the report in the form of quotations or citations
must be included in the bibliography. The references/bibliography should be written
in the specific format approved by the faculty. Each reference should be written in the
single spacing format and a double space should be left between references.

3. Format:
3.1 Binding
One spiral bound copy of the report need to be submitted by each student. The letters of
the cover page (front cover) should be printed in black ink. The size of the cover page is
A4. The cover page should be in pink color.
3.2 Length
The length of the report is not specific but the ideal length is 40-50 pages (body of
report).
3.3 Printing
Sections should be typed using a font such as Times New Roman, 12 points. A high
quality laser or ink-jet printer should be used for the printing. The body text should be
typed with 1.5 spacing and tables, long quotations, short footnotes, notes and citations
and the bibliography/references should also be written with single spacing.
3.4 Margins
The text should have the following margins:
Top: 1 inch Right: 1 inch
Left: 1.5 inch Bottom: 1 inch
Additional guidelines need to be followed:
All the tables and figures must be placed within the specified margins.
The last paragraph of the page should contain at least two sentences. If it doesn’t
the paragraph should begin on the next page.
3.5 Page Numbering
All page numbers should be printed 1.0 cm from the bottom margin and placed at the
right hand side without punctuations. 10 points recommended for numbers.
From Title Page to List of Figures, lower case roman numbers should be used. The
counting of page numbers starts from the title page however no page number should be
indicated on the title page. Numbering begins from the second page (following the title
page) with (ii). The pages from the abstract should be numbered as 1, 2, 3,… and so on.
3.6 Sub-Topics
No specific arrangement is required for the numbering of sub-topics but, whatever
arrangement is adopted, it must be consistent.
3.7 Tables
Tables are printed within the body of the text at the center of the frame and labeled
accordingly to the chapter in which they appear. Thus, for example, tables in Chapter 3
are numbered sequentially:
Table 3.1, Table 3.2 etc.
The table label is placed above the table itself and has a format of the type:

If the table contains a citation, the source of the reference should be placed below the
table.
3.8 Figures
Figures, like tables are printed within the body of the text at the center of the frame and
labeled accordingly to the chapter in which they appear. Thus, for example, figures in the
Chapter 3 are numbered sequentially: Figure 3.1, Figure 3.2 etc.
Figures, unlike text or tables, contain graph, illustrations or photograph and, the labels are
placed at the bottom of the figure rather than at the top.
