This documented SOP is established HSD / LDO unloading

Scope:Safe Operating procedure for –HSD / LDO unloading

SAFETY

Mandatory requirements:-

A. Raise work permits


B. Turn off cell phone
C. Tool Box Talk
D. HIRA
E. All Required PPE’s must be used.
General Safety Note:

1. All External Service Vehicles should be provided with statutory documents

2. Driver should have valid license

3. Vehicle should be exceed more than the speed of 20 km/h in plant premises

4. Vehicle should be in good condition and pass our standard check list.

HSD / LDO UNLOADING PROCEDURE

SL No Activities Remarks
1 Visually check all hoses for leaks and wet spots.

2 Verify that sufficient volume is available in the


storage tank or truck.

3 Secure the tank vehicle with wheel chocks.

4 Verify that the vehicle’s parking brakes are set.

5 Verify proper alignment of valves and proper


functioning of the pumping system

6 Establish adequate bonding/grounding prior to


connecting to the fuel transfer point.

7 Driver must stay with the vehicle at all times


during loading/unloading activities.

8 Periodically inspect all systems, hoses and


connections

9 When loading, keep internal and external valves


on the receiving tank open along with the
pressure relief valves.

10 Maintain communication with the pumping and


receiving stations.

11 Monitor the liquid level in the receiving tank to


prevent overflow.

12 When topping off the tank, reduce flow rate to


prevent overflow

13 Make sure the transfer operation is completed.

14 Close all tank and loading valves before


disconnecting.

15 Securely close all vehicle internal, external, and


dome cover valves before disconnecting.

16 Make sure the hoses are drained to remove the


remaining HSD before moving them away from

the connection. Use a drip pan.

17 Cap the end of the hose and other connecting


devices before moving them to prevent
uncontrolled leakage.

18 Remove wheel chocks.

19 Inspect the lowermost drain and all outlets on


tank truck prior to departure. If necessary,
tighten, adjust, or replace caps, valves, or other
equipment to prevent oil leaking while in transit
