RESOLUTION No. 264-2001

(On motion by SB Member Algabre and seconded
by SB Member Laserna)

A RESOLUTION REQUESTING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM THE

HONORABLE SECRETARY ANGELITO MM. SARMIENTO,
PRESIDENTIAL ADVISER FOR AGRICULTURAL MODERNIZATION IN
THE AMOUNT OF SEVEN MILLION (P 7 MILLION) FOR THE
IMPLEMENTATION OF TWO (2) PRIORITY PROJECTS
CONSTRUCTION OF BRIDGE (STA. ROSA RIVER) AND CONCRETING
OF A FARM TO MARKET ROAD, BOTH PROJECTS AT BARANGAY
KANLURAN, SANTA ROSA, LAGUNA.

WHEREAS, the specific provisions of RA 7160, otherwise known as the

Local Government Code of 1991, delegated functions and responsibilities to local
government units (LGUs), primarily on the effective and efficient delivery of
services and facilities at the local level;

WHEREAS, there is an urgent need to provide fund assistance to LGUs in

order to alleviate their financial burdens in carrying out the devolved functions
and responsibilities, as specified by the Code;

WHEREAS, the Municipality of Santa Rosa, Laguna desires to implement

the above-entitled project which is a local priority project congruent with the
socio-economic and development agenda of the Arroyo Administration;

WHEREAS, the Municipality of Santa Rosa, Laguna lacks the financial

capability to implement the aforementioned project;

THEREFORE, be it resolved as it is hereby resolved by the Members of

the Sanggunian to request financial assistance from the Honorable Secretary
Angelito MM. Sarmiento, Presidential Adviser for Agricultural Modernization
in the amount of Seven Million (P 7 Million) for the implementation of two (2)
priority projects - Construction of Bridge (Sta. Rosa River) and Concreting of a
Farm to Market Road, both projects at Barangay Kanluran, Santa Rosa, Laguna.
