4: Worthy Is the Lamb – Lesson Outline

Key Thought: The visions of chapter 4 and 5 of Revelation takes place in
heaven’s throne room. The scenes portray God’s control of history and the
plan of salvation.

1. Have a volunteer read Revelation 4:1-5.

a. Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in
this text is.
b. What does it mean that a door was open in heaven and a throne was set?
c. Personal Application: How concerned or excited are you that judgment has
begun in heaven? Share your thoughts.

d. Case Study : One of your relatives states: “Who are these four and twenty
elders around the throne? Why are they dressed in white and wearing golden
crowns?” How would you respond to your relative?

2. Have a volunteer read Revelation 5:1-6.

a. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point
is in this passage.
b. What is the meaning of the sealed book?
c. Personal Application: What do the seven horns, seven eyes, and seven
Spirits represent on the Lamb? Share your thoughts.
d. Case Study: One of your friends states, “Why is Jesus alternately called the
Lion and the Lamb as it had been slain? Why is there a contrast presented
here? ” How would you reply to your friend?

3. Have a volunteer read Revelation 5:8-11.

a. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this
text is.
b. What do you find in the Scripture here to give you hope and comfort in this
dark and dismal world?
c. Personal Application: How does it affect you to know your prayers are
saved up and presented before the throne with the sweet smell of perfume?

d. Case Study: One of your neighbors states, “Not only the twenty-four elders,
but also the four living creatures sing about redemption. Does this indicate
that the living creatures are human being redeemed form the earth?” How
would you respond to your neighbor?

4. Have a volunteer read Acts 2:32-36

a. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this
text is.
b. What focus does Peter have when he speaks of David not being in heaven
but saying the Lord sit on my right hand
c. Personal Application: What assurance and hope do we have knowing that
Jesus is on the right hand of God as both Lord and Master? Share your
thoughts.
d. Case Study: Think of one person who needs to hear a message from this
week’s lesson. Tell the class what you plan to do this week to share with
them.
