Cameron Baby Sneakers are baby booties in the style of Velcro sneakers. The design is gender-neutral
and may be worn by both girl and boy babies. If you want to make these sneaker-styled booties more
masculine or feminine, you may want to pick a fabric with an unmistakably boyish or girlish pattern.

Cameron Baby Sneakers are baby booties in the style of sneakers. The design is gender-neutral and may be worn by both
girl and boy babies. If you want to make these sneaker-styled booties more masculine or feminine, you may want to pick
a fabric with an unmistakably boyish or girlish pattern. Keep in mind though that they are sneakers, however- a type of
shoes that are unisex in many cases. Cameron Baby Sneakers have a casual, comfortable look that makes it well-suited
for indoor play. These sneaker-booties are also great for day-to-day stroller wear, such as on trips to the grocery store or
to the park, and are a popular present for mothers with little children.Designer’s Review

Cut out the Fabric
Draw the patterns directly onto the wrong side of a single layer of fabric. Because there is a right and left
shoe you will need to reverse the sole and upper patterns when tracing. Make sure the right and left
pieces are separated to avoid confusion when attaching the soles. Cut out the exterior, lining, and
interfacing. Fuse the interfacing on the wrong side of the exterior following the manufacturer’s guide.

Sew the Upper
Place the upper lining piece and upper exterior piece with right sides together. Pin and sew the bottom of
the two together, backstitching on both ends and leaving the semicircle unstitched, see Picture 5. Clip the
seam as needed and trim the corners in a “V” shape, see Picture 6. Turn right side out and press, see Picture
7. Repeat for the other upper piece. Make sure the left and right pieces are separated to avoid confusion
when attaching the soles, see Picture 8.

Attach the Exterior Sole Piece
Place the exterior sole piece on top of the upper piece with right sides together, matching their center
points. Pin the toe and heel, see Pictures 16-17.
Then, pin around the rest of the sole, clipping the heel seam as needed. Make sure all the layers are
included. Sew the sole, leaving a 2 ½” gap for turning and backstitching on both ends, see Picture 18. Trim
and clip the seam, see Picture 19.Turn the shoe right side out; pin and slipstitch the opening closed, see
Picture 20. Sew one sew-on snap onto the bottom of the unattached strap end and the other onto the
upper, or sew on the Velcro pieces, see Picture 21. Repeat for the other shoe.

*Because our patterns are on PDF files, the pages may be scaled prior to printing, depending on the
printer and print driver. To ensure that the shoes pattern prints in the correct size, set the margins on
zero before printing the pattern. To do so, select “None” from the “Page Scaling” drop-down list in Acrobat
or Reader’s Print dialog box (Hanyaloglu, 2007).
**The size of the shoes may also be affected by the thickness of your interfacing and/or fabric.
***The pattern sizes should match the following measurements upon printing:
Baby Shoes
Size 1 (0-3 mos.): 4"
Size 2 (3-6 mos.): 4.25"
Size 3 (6-9 mos.): 4.5"
