HOSTEL ADMISSION INFORMATION SHEET (2019 - 20) VELLORE CAMPUS

1. Men's Hostel: All the Bachelor's and Integrated Master's degree programmes offered in Vellore Campus are RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMMES from the academic
year 2019-20 onwards.
Ladies Hostel: All the programmes (Bachelor's, Master's and Integrated Master's) offered in Vellore Campus are RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMMES from the
academic year 2019-20 onwards.
2. Students from within 80 Km radius of the campus alone will be exempted and all the other students will have to stay at the campus hostels until the completion of the
degree programme. Students will NOT be allowed to vacate the hostel and study as day-boarder during the course of study.
3. Hostel Room Booking Procedure
(i) Category I : Payment for hostel room booking (Rs.1 Lakh) will be accepted only upon payment of the full Tuition Fees.
(ii) Category II and above : Payment for hostel room booking (Rs.1 Lakh) will be accepted only upon payment of Rs. 2 Lakhs as advance towards Tuition Fees.
4. For booking the hostel room and mess, an advance amount of Rs. 1 Lakh has to be paid either ONLINE (VITEEE 2019 student login) or through Demand Draft
(drawn in favour of Vellore Institute of Technology, payable at Vellore) from the day of counselling. Student Name and Application No. should be written on the
reverse side of the Demand Draft without fail.
5. As room allotment is purely based on first come first served basis, payment can be made on the day of counselling too in order to obtain the preferred choice of
th
room. The balance Hostel and Mess fee should be paid on or before 7 June, 2019.
6. Please note that the Hostel Admission fee of Rs.15,000/- is NON-REFUNDABLE in case of withdrawal after booking the room (Regardless of student joining the
hostel or not).
7. Room Type and Room Number will be displayed in VIT website from 27th June, 2019 onwards.
8. Students should report to the hostel only one day before the commencement of the classes as mentioned in the Provisional Admission Letter. Rooms will not be
available any time before to that date. Also, plan your arrival during the day time. (For example, if classes commence on 8thJuly, please plan your arrival on 7th July
between 9 am to 6 pm only).
9. On withdrawal of admission from VIT using ONLINE WITHDRAWAL FORM available in the Home page of VIT (www.vit.ac.in),
(www.vit.ac.in), Hostel Room allotted will also be
cancelled automatically and the Room and Mess fee will be refunded as per the Hostel Refund Policy.
10.Essentials: Mattress, Pillow, Bed Sheets / Bed Spreads, Bucket, Mug, Lock-I for the cupboard and Lock-II for the room (For shared accommodation the room lock
should have as many keys as the type of room. Hostel staff will guide on buying the Lock-II, for the room based on the type of room). The said items are also
available in the shops near the hostel blocks.

NOTE: Joint affidavit (in non-judicial stamp paper of Rs.20/-) consisting of Personal Security Bond and Local Guardian details (if preferred) is to be submitted by
the student duly signed by the parent / guardian on the day of reporting to the respective Block Supervisor/Warden. Refer the URL
