Every cloud has a Silver Lining

Written by

Amber Hamid

“One should never feel hopeless because difficult times always lead to better
days.”

It generally means that every bad situation has some good aspects to it. Basically,
it’s like an encouragement to a person who is unable to see any positive way
forward.

The above statement seems to be quite pragmatic. The proverb, every cloud has a
silver lining, teaches the lesson to not to lose hope in the hours of darkness and
sorrow. It conveys the message to be optimistic and hopeful. It tells one not to lose
heart and also not to sulk in bad feelings because all bad things come with some
good attached to them. Out of every problem one faces, one can gain some
advantage.

Well, it is very obvious that life is full of challenges and the longer a person lives
the more he faces new challenges. Some problematic phases in life pass away easily
while others might be difficult to get out of and one might feel like stuck in them
for a while. And when the hard times start one can develop the courage and strength
to face the difficulties to be able to survive and move on in life, which is what the
proverb basically promotes. It is always possible to get something positive out of
any situation, no matter how unpleasant, difficult or even painful it is.

History is full of similar examples like after the devastation created by World War
II, the new developments globally occurred in all fields including technological
advancement.

Usually it is said that,

“Every morning has a new beginning, a new blessing, a new hope.

It is a perfect day because it is God’s gift.
Have a blessed, hopeful, perfect day to begin with.”
Helen Keller once said,

“Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement.

Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.”

Hence the proverb,

“Every cloud has a silver lining.”
