Barangay Solid Waste Disposal

Barangay Calawisan has been an advocate of environment and proper solid

waste management practices. Since 2015, the Barangay has initiated a Solid Waste
Management Program which focuses on the segregation of wastes, specifically for
biodegradable, non biodegradable, compostable, and reusable wastes. Moreover, the
Barangay Council has produced garbage bins and placed them strategically to every
Zone/ Purok of the Barangay. These garbage bins are labeled accordingly.

Currently, the Barangay has 1 garbage truck which collects wastes home to
home every Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 9 in the morning onwards. After
the wastes are collected, they are then transported to the Materials Recovery Facility in
Barangay Soong, Lapu- Lapu City.
