Operational Parameters
1. Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system. System certified for cyst reduction may be used on disinfected water that may contain filterable cysts. 2. Operating Temperatures: Maximum 100F (40C) Minimum 40F (04.4C) 3. Installation
This system has been designed to fit under most kitchen sinks. Please read carefully before proceeding with installation.

Step 1: Mounting System Under Sink

A. Locate a space under the sink that allows the unit to be mounted close to the cold water supply and allows for easy access when changing filters. Allow 2" (5cm) clearance between the bottom of the filter housing and the floor of the sink cabinet for filter changes. B. Using the mounting hole on the bracket, mark the location for the mounting screws on a wall under the sink. C. Screw the (2) screws into the wall at the marked location. D. The UC-2 bracket is designed to be mounted without removing the (2) screws. Hang the UC-2 module on the screws using the mounting holes in the bracket.

B. Determine the desired location for the faucet on your sink surface. C. Place a piece of masking tape or duct tape on location where the hole is to be drilled. Mark the center of the hole on the tape. Note: Stainless steel sinks only go Step F. D. Using the variable speed drill on the slowest speed, drill a 1/8" (3mm) pilot hole at the center of the desired location. Use lubricating oil or liquid soap to keep the drill bit cool while drilling. Note: If drill bit gets hot it may cause the porcelain to crack or chip. Pilot hole must be drilled through both porcelain and metal casing of the sink before proceeding to the next step. E. Enlarge pilot hole to 1/4" (6.4mm). Keep drill speed on the slowest speed and use lubricating oil or liquid soap to keep drill bit cool. F. Enlarge the 1/4" hole to 7/16" (11.13mm). Keep drill speed on the slowest speed and use lubricating oil or liquid soap to keep drill bit cool. G. Pass the Escutcheon plate and black rubber washer over threaded mounting tube at the base of the faucet body. H. From top of sink pass the threaded mounting tube through the hole drilled in the sink. Align the faucet body. I. From under the sink, slide the locating washer and the lockwasher over the threaded tube part of the faucet. Screw on retaining nut. Tighten with wrench. J. Connect the loose end of the 1/4" blue plastic tubing from the filtration unit to the threaded mounting tube of the faucet as shown Figure B.

Step 2: Installation of Faucet

Special Note: Porcelain sink surface material is extremely hard and can crack or chip quite easily. Use extreme caution when drilling. Watts accepts no responsibility for consequential damage resulting from the installation of faucet to the sink or counter top. Remove faucet kit from plastic bag and locate each of the following parts (as shown in Figure A).

Note: Remove plastic tubing from faucet body before inserting long reach spout into faucet body. Note: If using existing hole (sprayer or soap dispenser) go to Step G. 3

Step 3: Installing Easy Tap Adapter Cold Water Supply Only

Easy tap adapter is to be installed on 1/4" male or female pipe thread connections before angle stop valve or onto the sink faucet. Note: If your plumbing does not allow for connection of the easy tap adapter, contact your local plumbing or hardware store for modifications. A. Turn off the main supply water to the house if installing before the angle stop valve as shown in figure C1, or shut off the water supply at the angle stop valve if installing on to the faucet as shown in figure C2. Note: Thread connection of the angle stop valve and housing plumbing may be the opposite of that shown in figure C1. B. Teflon tape the 1/8" male pipe thread of the easy tap valve. Screw the valve into easy tap valve body. C. Disconnect the fitting where the easy tap valve is to be installed. Secure both sides of the fittings with wrenches where the easy tap valve is to be installed. D. Insert the easy tap gasket into the female portion of easy tap. No plumbing dope or Teflon tape should be required on the male pipe threads. E. Thread easy tap valve on to the 1/2" male pipe threads and tighten securely with wrench. F. Thread angle stop valve or plumbing connection to easy tap adapter and tighten securely. G. Connect green tubing from unit to the easy tap valve (as shown in figure C1 or C2). H. Make sure easy tap valve is closed by turning handle clockwise. I. Turn on water supply and open easy tap valve by turning handle counter clockwise and check for leaks.

Step 4: Start Up
A. Lift black faucet handle up on faucet to start flow of water through unit. Run 7 gallons of water through unit. Close faucet. Note: You may hear some noise as air is being purged from the unit. The first few ounces of water from the unit may be dark in color due to carbon fines from the filter. B. Your water is now ready for drinking.

Filter Change
Watts Pure Water recommends changing the filter element at least every 6 months or 1350 gallons (5100 liters). Use Watts' P-CB-1 replacement cartridge only. A. Turn off incoming feed water supply to unit. Note: There will be water in the unit filter housing. Lift the faucet handle to relieve the water pressure. B. Remove filter housing from lid by unscrewing to the left, as shown in Figure D. C. Remove used filter cartridges and discard. Discard the P-CB-1 gaskets. Note: Do not discard the filter housing O-ring. D. Clean inside of filter housing with warm soapy water. Rinse the filter housing with warm clean water to remove soap. E. Lubricate filter housing O-ring with water-soluble lubricant (i.e. K-Y Jelly or Silicone lubricant) Note: Do not use Petroleum base lubricant (i.e. Vaseline). F. Seat O-ring in groove in filter housing. G. Insert new filter cartridges into filter housing. H. With the filter bowl in a upright position, screw filter housing back onto lid as shown in Figure D. I. Repeat Start Up procedure (Step 4) and check for leaks.

Limited Warranty
What your Warranty Covers: If any part of your WATTS PURE WATER Reverse Osmosis System is defective in workmanship (excluding replaceable filters and membranes), return unit after obtaining a return authorization (see below), less tank, within 3 years of original retail purchase. WATTS PURE WATER will repair or, at WATTS PURE WATER'S option, replace the system at no charge. How to obtain Warranty Service: For warranty service, call 1-800-752-5582 for a return authorization number. Then, ship your Reverse Osmosis unit (less tank) to our factory, freight and insurance prepaid, with proof of date of original purchase. Please include a note stating the problem. WATTS PURE WATER will repair it, or replace it, and ship it back to you prepaid. What this warranty does not cover: This warranty does not cover defects resulting from improper installation, (contrary to WATTS PURE WATER'S printed instructions), from abuse, misuse, misapplication, improper maintenance, neglect, alteration, accidents, casualties, fire, flood, freezing, environmental factors, or other such acts of God. This warranty will be void if defects occur due to failure to observe the following conditions: 1. The Reverse Osmosis System must be hooked up to a potable municipal or well cold water supply. 2. The hardness of the water should not exceed 7 grains per gallon, or 120 ppm. 3. Maximum incoming iron must be less than 0.2 ppm. 4. The pH of the water must not be lower than 3 or higher than 11. 5. The incoming water pressure must be between 40 and 100 pounds per square inch. 6. Incoming water to the RO cannot exceed 105 degrees F (40 degrees C.) 7. Incoming TDS/Total Dissolved Solids not to exceed 1800 ppm. 8. Do not use with water that is micro-biologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system. This warranty does not cover any equipment that is relocated from the site of its original installation. This warranty does not cover any equipment that is installed or used outside the United States of America. LIMITATIONS AND EXCLUSIONS: WATTS PURE WATER WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING THOSE OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. WATTS PURE WATER WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING TRAVEL EXPENSE, TELEPHONE CHARGES, LOSS OF REVENUE, LOSS OF TIME, INCONVENIENCE, LOSS OF USE OF THE EQUIPMENT, AND DAMAGE CAUSED BY THIS EQUIPMENT AND ITS FAILURE TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. THIS WARRANTY SETS FORTH ALL OF WATTS PURE WATER'S RESPONSIBILITIES REGARDING THIS EQUIPMENT. OTHER CONDITIONS: If WATTS PURE WATER chooses to replace the equipment, WATTS PURE WATER may replace it with reconditioned equipment. Parts used in repairing or replacing the equipment will be warranteed for 90 days from the date the equipment is returned to you or for the remainder of the original warranty period, whichever is longer. This warranty is not assignable or transferable. YOUR RIGHTS UNDER STATE LAW: Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, and some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other legal rights which vary from state to state.
