While launching two Farmers Club organized by Ellaquai Dehati Bank at Desu in
district Anantnag, Chief General Manager NABARD Shri M L Sukhdeve
impressed upon the people of the area to take benefits of various schemes offered
by various banks working in the area. Shri Sukhdeve said that NABARD is
providing financial support to the State Government for building infrastructure in
the State and people should come forward to work in close association with the
govt and the financial institutions for raising their economic standards. Shri
Sukhdeve laid stress on of launching more Farmer Clubs and SHGs in the remote
areas of the State for the betterment of the people. Speaking on the occasion,
Chairman ED Bank Shri A U Tak said that the area has a vast potential for rearing
milch cattle and sheep and the people can benefit from the Venture Capital scheme
of NABARD. Chairman said that under this scheme, NABARD provides 50
percent subsidy on the capital outlay and also provides 50 % subsidy on interest
payable by the borrower. Chairman urged the people to take benefit from the
schemes launched by Ellaquai Dehati Bank for unemployed youth. ‘Bank has
dozens of viable schemes for the economic development of the people living in
rural areas and people should not hesitate in getting benefit from these tailor-
made schemes.’ Chairman said. Speaking to thousands of people who had
gathered to welcome the distinguished guests Chairman Shri Tak said that under
the directions of Govt of India, reserve Bank of India and NABARD the Bank has
launched ‘Financial Inclusion’ drive in the district Anantnag and a door to door
survey is being conducted by the bank official. He appealed the people to
cooperate with those people as new and viable schemes can be launched by the
bank on the inputs received from these surveys.
Earlier Shri B A Bhat branch manager of Wailoo branch apprized the guests about
various schemes launched by the bank for the benefit of the people of the area.
Shri Sukhdeve distributed some KCC, GCC and Solar light sanction letters to 27
beneficiaries of the areas who had come to receive their sanction letters.
Earlier Chairman inaugurated the reopening of a branch at Bidder Kokernag. Due
to certain reasons, the branch was temporarily shifted from its original centre and
at the initiation and directions of Hon’able Chief Minister Omar Abdullah the
branch was shifted to its original place. Chairman impressed upon the people of
the area to cooperate with the officials of the bank for extending the benefits of
various schemes to the people of the area.
