Good morning all Resident

Reporting patient, boy 5 years old, referred from orthopaedic and traumatology department, with
clinical information developmental dysplasia of the left hip, asked for pelvis xray AP projection

I’m sorry doctor this is an outpatient so we can not get any history taking. From computer system
this is the first examination of the hip in Soetomo General Hospital

From Pelvic X Ray AP Projection we got :


There is flattening left acetabular roof with acetabular index about 38 degree (normal value for 6
years old : 15 degree) accompany with Left caput femur dislocation to superolateral quadrant from
Hilgenreiner and Perkin line
Right acetabular index 15 degree
Bone trabeculation seems normal
Right and Left Sacroiliac joint and right hip joint seem good
Right and Left Shenton’s line are assymetric
There is no abnormal calcification
There is no erotion/bone destruction
There is no soft tissue swelling

Our conclusion is :
Those finding supporting developmental dysplasia of the left hip grade IV (according to Tonnis
Classification)
