Using a 6-2E/TP-12 Test Point Adaptor in Network Amplifiers

The 6-2E/TP-12 test point adaptor temporarily plugs into TNA and High Gain GNA network
amplifiers. The 6-2E/TP-12 isolates the test point from reflections caused by passive equipment
mounted nearby, and increases accuracy in setting output levels. To use the 6-2E/TP-12:

1. Replace the jumper or equalizer in the "Distribution Slope Equalizer" (or Secondary Output
Equalizer) position with the 6-2E/TP-12 (as illustrated below). With the testpoint plugged in
there is RF continuity to the feeder ports. Please note that network amplifiers that are model
"B" or "C" have -30 dB directional coupler test points already built into their circuit boards.
The 6-2E/TP12 is not recommended for use with "B" amplifiers.

2. When the testpoint replaces an equalizer, the measured output does not include the loss or
the tilt of the equalizer. When using the 6-2E/TP-12 to verify or set output levels on a
feeder/secondary port, be sure to compensate for the loss of the equalizer.

3. After using the testpoint to verify output, put the original jumper or equalizer back in place.

The following is the Test Point Value Table for Trunk Network Ampifiers, and for High Gain
Global Network Amplifiers (550 MHz, 600 MHz, 750 MHz, excludes loss from equalizers):

Model Trunk/Main Feeder/Secondary

TNA39* -17 dB (J2) -27 dB* (J3, J4)
TNA29* -17 dB (J2) -31 dB* (J3, J4)
High Gain GNA N/A -27 dB* (J2, J3, J4)
*NOTE: For the feeder/secondary port, depending on the value of the equalizer and the operatin
frequency of the amplifier, the loss of the equalizer will be different.
