Assistant Director for Administrative Services

Functions:

1. Assist the Bureau Director in the implementation and management of all the Administrative
services and support functions of the Bureau;
2. Review rules, policies and provisions pertaining to Administrative and support services of
the Bureau and its employees;
3. Recommend to the Bureau Director strategic plans and programs for the conservation,
protection, and sustainable management of the country’s fisheries and aquatic resources,
and systems to fulfill organizational goals and objectives;
4. Render over-all Administrative supervision of the Bureau including its Regional, Provincial,
and other fishery offices in the performance of their functions as follows:
a. Plan, manage, and review the effective and efficient use of all physical and fiscal
resources of the Bureau including its Regional, Provincial, and other fishery offices;
b. Oversee that the operations are managed effectively, efficiently, and economically;
c. Require submission of reports, conduct of management audit, and evaluation of
performance to determine compliance with the policies, standards, and guidelines of
the Bureau or Department; and
d. Take necessary actions in addressing proper performance of official functions
including rectification of violations and other forms of maladministration
5. Assist the Director to ensure strict compliance with prescribed national criteria for the
selection and hiring/promotion of personnel including professional staff development in
the Central and Regional Offices;
6. Coordinate and provide assistance to clients, stakeholders, private sectors, LGUs, NGOs,
academe and other institutions regarding matters on fisheries and aquatic resources;
7. Ensures that documents for signature or initial of the Director are reviewed;
8. Receive and consolidate documents according to its nature (administrative or technical
matters, financial, licenses and permits, etc.) and make sure that the said documents can be
retrieved if necessary;
9. Represent the Bureau Director during meetings, conferences, and other similar nature, both
local and international commitments, whenever delegated; and
10. Perform such other related functions as maybe assigned by the Undersecretary for Fisheries
or Department Secretary.
