Experiment#4

Problem Statement:

Problem Statement Compressors are used to move gases. The compressor increases the pressure of
the gases. A mixture of natural gas (C1, C2, C3, i-C4, n-C4, i-05, n-05, n-C6, C7 + ) at 100°C and 1 bar
is fed into a compressor that has only 30% efficiency. The flowrate of the natural gas is 100 kgmole/h
and its outlet pressure from the compressor is 5 bar. Using Peng-Robinson equation of state as a
fluid package, determine the outlet temperature of the natural gas.

Performing Practical:
Step1:
 Select the Package and Component as Given Below.

 Component C7 + is not available in the Component Library. Therefore, you need to create
this component using Hypothetical Show below
 You have now finished defining the fluid package. Click the Enter Simulation Environment
button when you are ready to start building the simulation.
Step 2:
Installing a Stream:
 Press F11. The Stream property view appears

 Name the Stream As Compressor.

 Click on F12
 Add Compressor as Object & click on Connections

 Now clock on the Parameter to Testify the Efficiency as given in the Statement I;e 30 percent

If in the end the green color shows up the the experiment is done Correctly
