Assumptions:
We assume the user is familiar with user interface of BPC and BW. All
required Dimensions and Model is in place.
What is a Journal?
Business Scenario:
Initial/Home Screen:
The Journal Tab consists of a Context menu and three sub-tabs for data
input/entry:
Journal Entries The journal entry sub-tab allows user to directly input
Journal postings
In Journal Landing page, go to Advanced Query option and view all the
journals created by a specific user (if you do not remember the context)
Auto Reverse – this option will allow you reverse debits and credits
value in journal entry in the next period
When posted a Journal with Auto Reversal option selected, System will
automatically create a new Journal Entry with Saved status and Description
precede by %AUTO-REVERESED#xx% (xx being the reference to the
original GroupID which is the basis for this Journal Entry)
Copy to, will allow you to copy the Journal to a new context.
Copy to the next period is checked the TIME DIM will be disabled
One an Auto Reverse Journal Entry is posted a New Journal Entry will be
created with a pre-fix of “%AUTO-REVERSE#xx” in Description where
xx is the base Journal ID. The New Journal will be in Saved status
From the Journal landing page Select the Journal Entry and click
UnGroup button
