E WASTE MANAGEMENT

FUN E E-WASTE WEEK
Under ECE department with several participation from applied
sciences a FUN E E-WASTE WEEK was organised from 22nd April to 6th
May wherein the event was concerned with E-WASTE collection and
its subsequent recycling by NAMO industry.
The event was promoted in various faculties around the college with
student volunteering, pamphlet distribution, word of mouth publicity
where people were acknowledged about various E-Waste, their
harmful effects and their impact on environment and on human
health. The E-Waste collection drive was held 22nd April to 30th April
which attracted enormous E-Waste collection from lower
administrative to higher administrative and from students to various
faculty members. The E-Waste collected contained not only small
earphones but also including huge LED TV, Speakers, Juicer.
The huge E-Waste collection varying from small to higher range and
inquisteness amongst students and faculties and their indicated that
the drive was successful not only in E-Waste collection but also in
raising awareness among students and faculty.
On 6th May the E-Waste collected was taken to NAMO E-WASTE
INDUSTRY accompanied by Ms. Yogita Gupta and few students of
Applied Sciences. The E-Waste collected and deposited was meant to
be recycled and reused.
PROJECT MAKING
Electronic Waste being one of the harmful waste not only for
environment but also for human health is one of the major
concerned of today’s generation.
To raise E-Waste recycling quotient and awareness among students
and E-Waste project making assignment was given to students. The
students were required to show their creativity and critical thinking
ability combined with scientific knowledge and basis. Students were
required to make working model out of electronic waste and to
explain the scientific principle behind the working model.
Students used electronic waste like batteries, motors, LED’s etc. and
made some wonderful projects displays.
Some of the model which acted as centre of attention were
AMUSEMENT PARK
VARIOUS WIND MILL
WORKING ROBOT
DANCING DOLL
WATER ALARM etc.
Students were not only able to recycle E-Waste present around them
but also presented some wonderful projects with scientific
application and proper working model conditions.
DOCUMENTARY- THE CONCLUSION
“Audio and video are conceived easily by audiences and are able to
easily explain facts and phenomenance.”
Keeping the above stated in mind a documentary was made covering
all aspects of FUN E WEEK, its implementation, collection and
subsequent awareness among children. The projects made by
students of applied sciences was also included in the documentary.
The documentary aimed at increasing awareness about various E-
Waste and its impact on environment and human health. It also
aimed at focusing different E-Waste recycling companies, technique
and its importance.
