IV. Rationale:
The Office of the Information and Communication Technology Service and

Human Resource Development Section of Schools Division Office I Pangasinan with
Open Educational Resources - Pangasinan I has developed training design on the Use
and Curation of Open Educational Resources (OER) for every Teachers of SDO1
Pangasinan.
OERs help Philippine education to improve across the country. Teachers and
learners anywhere in the country can access OERs at any time. The use of OERs
instead of traditional textbooks can substantially reduce the cost of educational
materials for learners. OERs can supplement textbooks and lectures where
deficiencies in information are evident.
This workshop will introduce the capabilities, functionalities and advantages

of using OER as a powerful tool to support offline e-learning even without internet
connectivity. This project supports the Digital Rise Program which ensures the delivery
of quality, accessible, relevant, and liberating education by bridging the digital gap.
Likewise, the participants will undergo a capacity building program to be OER
volunteers of the department in spearheading this innovation in their respective school
and further support the Last Mile Schools.

V. Project Objectives
1. Demonstrate he latest methods and approaches in educational technology;

2. Engages the teachers to explore the utilization of learning software and
technological tools in transforming the classroom as an avenue of redefined
meaningful experiences in harnessing the 21th Century Skills of learners; and
3. Discuss technological innovations and strategies that help improve the
teaching-learning process.
