Recently everyone is going digital and cashless because of the digital

india initiative taken by our prime minister. Many apps have been
launched over a period of time that encourage and assist the masses to
have hassle-free financial transactions. These apps are no longer just
used to pay and receive money but also various other uses like booking
movie tickets or travel tickets. One of these apps that I am going to
make you all familiar with is called Paytm.

MAIN PART:

Paytm is an indian payments app that was launched in 2010 by Vijay

Shekhar Sharma who was ranked as India's youngest billionaire in 2017 by
the Forbes with a net worth of $2.1 billion.. Yes, seems so long ago but the
app got only popular since December 2016 when demonatisation was
announced. Because of its simplicity in usage the number of users have
increased.

USES:

I would now like to elaborate on some of the facilities that the app
provides. The most basic feature with the idea of which it was launched
is of course paying and receiving e-money. There are two modes
available through which payments can be made and they are scanning
the unique QR code generated on the receivers Paytm account. And the
other way is by simply entering their registered contact number.

Going more in detail, Paytm is also used to book movie tickets

efficiently, and they offer exciting deals too. Tickets are offered at a
minimized price.
Travel is also made easy and efficient by Paytm as one can also book
bus, train and flight tickets.
