What is ICT?

Is a extensional term for Information technology resource describing the influence of


information communication technology in scientific knowledge construction with
emphasis/stresses in the role of Unified communication and product technologies,
process technologies, and context technology and the integration of telecommunications,
computers as well as necessary entreprise software, middleware, storage and audio-
visual system, which enable users to access, store, transmit and manipulate information
technology, including studies and research on knowledge management, the human side
of ICT

The term ICT is also used to refer to convergence audio-visual and telephone networks
computer networks through a single cabling or link system. There are large economic
incentives (huge cost savings due to elimination of the telephone network) to merge the
telephone network with the computer network system using a single unified system of
cabling, signal distribution and management.
