CHEMICAL REACTION

I. Objectives

- To write balance equation.

- To clarify a reaction and synthesis decomposition angle and double displacement.
- To explain the reaction of catalyst chemical reaction.

II. Materials

- 3 Plastic cups
- Baking soda
- Vinegar
- 250ml Hydrogen Peroxide (
- 50g Yeast
- Matches
- Rags
- Newspaper

III. Methodology

We put a newspaper because there will be a chemical reaction and it may occur a grimy presentation.
The Reaction of Acetic Acid (Vinegar) (HCH3 COOH) and Baking Soda (NaHCO3).

Here are the steps:

1. Prepare the ingredients.

2. Add some Vinegar to the plastic cup.
3. Fire a match then hold it at the top of the vinegar that is in the cup.
4. Observe what will happen.
5. Add some Baking Soda in the cup and mix it.
6. Observe what will happen.
7. Fire a match then hold it at the top of the vinegar.
8. Observe what will happen.
9. Record the Findings.
10. Clean the working area with rags.
B. The Decomposition of Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) with yeast.

Here are the steps:

1. Prepare the Ingredients.

2. Put the yeast in the cup.
3. Put some hot water.
4. Mix it.
5. Wait for 5 minutes or 6 mins.
6. Put the Hydrogen Peroxide to the other cup.
7. Pour the yeast solution to the cup of Hydrogen Peroxide.
8. Observe what will happen.
9. Record the results.
10. Clean the working area with rags.
IV. Results and Discussion

Experiment Observation Balance Chemical Type of Reaction

Reaction
A We recognized the NaC2 H3 O2 + CO2 + H2 Double Replacement
overflowing of bubbles O Reaction
then after that we set
the match on fire, the
fire has been drain
away because of the
carbon dioxide that has
been release from the
chemical reaction that
occurs after the baking
soda (NaHCO3) pour
into the Vinegar or
Acetic Acid (HCH3
COOH). when the
baking soda and
vinegar combines
together it generally
release carbon dioxide
(CO2).
B when the yeast H2 O(L) + O2 (G)) Decomposition Reaction
solution mixed with
hydrogen peroxide (H2
O2), there's a lot of
bubbles flowing. When
we set the match on
fire and put it at the top
of the bubbles, we see
the fire glowing
through burn and the
match quickly drained
because of the
chemical reaction of
the yeast solution and
hydrogen peroxide.
whenthe two products
combine together, they
release oxygen and that
is one of the 3 main
component to have a
fire. The oxygen is the
most important to let
the fire be powerful.
