Mechanics and Criteria for the POSTER AND SLOGAN MAKING CONTEST 2019

A. MECHANICS:

1. The Poster and Slogan Making Contest is for selected Grade 5 pupils of
__________________.
2. Each participants should submit one (1) entry only.
3. The poster and slogan making must illustrate, interpret and emphasize the theme of
the 2019 Nutrition Month celebration: “Kumain nang Wasto at Maging Aktibo…
Push Natin ‘to!”.
4. The size of the poster should be 1/8 illustration board.
5. All needed materials must be provided by the participants during the contest day
such as:
Drawing board
Pencil
Oil paints
Water color
Crayons
Coloring pens
Others
6. All artworks must be done on the spot and must be completed within the allotted time
of two (2) hours.
7. All entries must be pre-numbered. No other identifying marks will be allowed to
appear in the artworks.
8. All entries shall be judged by the Board of Judges composed of experts on the fields
of arts.
9. There will be three (3) winners for the contest: 2nd Place, 1st Place and Champion.
10. The winners will receive Certificate of Recognition and the output will be exhibited in
their respective section/room after the contest.
11. Non- winning entries shall be given a certificate of appreciation signed by the
chairperson of the 5th Grade and the School Head ______________________.
12. Contest schedule shall be on July 26, 2019 ( Friday) 8:00 Am to 10:00 in the morning.
13. Winners will be identified at the end of the activity.

B. CRITERIA FOR JUDGING

All artworks will be judged based on the following criteria:

Relevance to the theme - 30 %


Creativity and Presentation - 30%
Originality - 20%
Neatness - 20%

MECHANICS

1. Each team will be given ten (10) minutes to write their recipe in the official recipe form after
cooking a dish and to submit it to the committee.
2. The participants must provide a Title Card which contains the title and the brief description
of each of the dishes on display. This must be submitted together with the Recipe Form.
A five (2)-point deduction from the total score shall be incurred for non-submission of the
title card.
3. The title cards must be placed on the display area of the participant’s dishes prior to
judging.
4. All competitors are requested to wear proper cooking attire. Each team must bring at least
three (3) plain white kitchen towels.
5. All preparation and cooking of dishes, including garnishes, must be entirely made and
crafted on the spot. A team who brings in any cooked item will be disqualified. Before the
competition starts, each working area will be checked by the committee.
6. Every team should prepare two plates for their chosen dish – one for display and another
one to be served to the judges for tasting.
7. The participants will be given a total of three (3) hours excluding clean up, organization of
the competition area, and writing of recipe.
8. There will be three (3) winners for the contest: 2nd Place, 1st Place and Champion.
9. The winners will receive Certificate of Recognition.
10. Non- winning entries shall be given a certificate of appreciation signed by the chairperson

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING

• Taste and Nutritional Value (40%) - The dish should be nutritionally well balanced and
must emphasize Philippine taste
• Visual appeal (30%) - Contrast of plating and design
• Originality and Creativity(20%) - Recipes are not copied from magazines, cook books,
or other contests
• Overall Presentation (10%) – Appetizer and main course shall complement the flavors,
taste, and
styles of each other
