SUBJECT : SUBMISSION OF VALIDATED/FINAL STATUS OF

DAMAGES TO AREAS AND AFFECTED FARMERS,
INTERVENTIONS WITH COSTS TO MITIGATE THE
EFFECTS OF EL NIÑO

This has reference to the El Nino Task Force (ENTF) chaired by the National
Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) that was reactivated during the
meeting on 08 April 2019 at the NEDA Board Room with the main objective of
preparing Action Plan to mitigate the impacts of the latest El Niño Phenomenon. In
response to NEDA’s instruction to prepare an Action Plan, respective Regional
Offices except for UPRIIS and CARAGA as unaffected regions submitted Report
Damages and Interventions with Costs to mitigate the effects of El Niño with cut-
off date as of April 25, 2019. These damages and interventions with costs were
incorporated to our agency’s Action Plan and submitted to NEDA. Upon NEDA’s
completion of review and consolidation of reports, a meeting was set on 12 July
2019 to hold a small group meeting of the Food Security interventions under the El
Niño Action Plan at RDS Meeting Room, NEDA. The objective of the latest meeting
is to confirm the final number of affected farmers, discuss further harmonization of
projects under this area of concern, and possible sources of funds.

In this connection, in order for NEDA to rollout the proposed interventions and
identify the possible source of funds, you are hereby directed to submit the
validated/final status of damages to areas and affected farmers to be proposed for
Cash-for-Work Program (Annex A), and Shallow Tube Wells Program (Annex B)
with costs to mitigate the effects of El Niño. Submit the needed requirement on or
before 24 July 2019 at the Systems Management Division (SMD) of the Operations
Department, sending an advanced copy to nia_smd@yahoo.com.ph. Attached are
the formats/tables for your ready reference.

For your information and compliance.
