Saudi Arabian cuisine perfectly combines the characteristics of the cuisine of the

countries of the Mediterranean with those of Indian cuisine due to its proximity. Their
use of meat (especially lamb) and spices such as curry, sesame or cinnamon make these
elaborations exquisite experiences at the same time as exotic.
Of the Saudi gastronomy we must know that the importation and consumption of alcohol
are strictly prohibited by the Law of the Koran. They drink fruit juices and water. The tea
is perfumed with different herbs, it is drunk all day and it is delicious, you also drink
coffee. The "Saudi champagne" is an apple juice with carbonated mineral water.
Saudi cuisine ranges from the simple diet of the Bedouin, which consists mainly of
dates and milk of goat or camel, to the elaborate dishes and rich in spices that are
characteristic of each region that makes up the Arab state.
Some typical dishes of Saudi Arabia are shikamba (creamy soup of lamb meatballs);
vegetable and fruit salad made with apples, dates, nuts, lettuce, mayonnaise, yogurt and
lemon juice; kofta (made with spinach, minced meat, rice, spices, tomato and onion
sauce; onions stuffed with meat and rice.

Tipic Dishes

 A dish of faláfel, a typical element of Saudi cuisine, are croquettes made with
beans and chickpeas.

 Dates, dates have many uses. Dry, they can be eaten by hand. They can also be
filled with nuts such as almonds or walnuts, or glazed with syrup to take as an
appetizer or breakfast.

 Khubz, The khubz is a flat bread consumed in the Middle East. Its taste and texture
are similar to those of pita bread, but the khubz is larger and thicker.
 Kleeja, The kleeja is a popular baked dough from the Arab world. It is believed
that it originated in Iraq and traveled the caravan route to Saudi Arabia. This
cookie is prepared with wheat flour, butter and a generous amount of cardamom.
