Praxis Core Exam Analysis

In Nevada, they agreed that a set core of standard for teachers to meet before

furthering their education should be implemented. The criteria are referred to as the Praxis

Core Exam and are based upon personal practice test scores. The praxis core exam must

be passed in order to be accepted into your bachelor level of education or into the early

childhood education program at UNR, Nevada State and UNLV. The minimum passing

score for the math proportion is 150, 156 for reading, and 162 for writing.

To practice for the exam, I used the resources provided to me in our assignment

modules. Each subject was broken up into different versions and each had a certain amount

of question attached. I did read from my previous classes there are praxis exam study

groups and booklets that student use to help pass these exams also. I think I need to

investigate all my resources and find which is best for me in order to get the best results

possible.

My results from my practice exams were not that well. I honestly did not anticipate the

question being a thorough as some of them were. In high school, I was never good at taking

tests and often did horrible even if I studied for weeks. When it comes to the actual test, I

will have to use all my resources that are offered because the practice test was hard for me.

According to the test I am likely to not pass and that was quite upsetting. I know what I

need to work on now so I can assure I pass each section the first time.

In preparation for the official Praxis core exam, I will be using all my free time to practice

for this exam. It is hard being a full-time student and also working a full-time job, but I

know I need to pass this test in order to begin the career I want. I will be purchasing study

guides and will look into finding study groups to help with my outcome on this exam. This

practice exam really made me realize I have a lot of work to do and need to get my head

into the game. I’m glad I was able to experience this, so I know where I’m at and what I

need to work on to pass this exam.
