*April 30th-Principal’s Day! Our 4th grade show is on Wednesday, May 8th. We will have two
day performances for the school, and an evening performance at
*May 2nd-GLO 9am-11:30am 5:30pm. This is a mandatory after-school performance, included as
part of the FAME Program. If for some reason your child cannot
*May 6th-10th-Teacher Appreciation Week attend the evening performance, please contact me immediately. The
students are very eager to perform for you, so we look forward to

You may have heard from your child, but if you did not, our class won

The following kids completed 10 (monthly goal), or more, Achieve 3000
*May 22nd-2nd grade performance articles in April: Maria, Peter, Matthew, Brianna, and Gage. We were
only in school for 12 days during the month of April, so congratulations
*May 27th-Memorial Day (No School) to these kids for achieving this goal in such a short time period!
*May 21st-31st CAASPP Testing Lastly, students have less than 8 weeks to complete ST Math, as
(California State Testing) from well as reach their AR Goal. More than half of the class have
9:15am-11:30am every day already completed ST Math! Those who finish ST Math will
be rewarded with a party sometime in June!
Birthdays:
-Amazon or Target gift cards Language Arts: We will be working on poetry, as well as continuing to
build our reading comprehension skills through Achieve 3000. We will also
-sharpened pencils continue to work on conventions of the English Language.
-Astrobrights Color Paper (8.5”x11” Writing: We will continue to work on our opinion writing, and completing a
5-color assortment) 5-paragraph essay. We will complete our three-paragraph paper on
“When I am all Grown up.”
-Prizes for our prize box
Math: We will be working on fractions, decimals, two-dimensional shapes,
Amazon Wish List Link: angles, measurement units, and perimeter/area.

Science: We will be learning about electricity and magnetism.
Other Information:
**Please make sure your child brings plenty of water and
healthy snacks to school. Suggestions for healthy snacks:
Student Reminders: fruit, vegetables, yogurt, hummus, hard-boiled eggs, granola,
nuts, etc.
*Read 20 pages or more
each night. Take AR tests! **The air conditioner in our class can get very cold, so
please send a sweater with your child every day.
*Work on ST Math and
Math Facts in a Flash every **Make sure students are in the proper dress code, and
night. come to school on P.E. days (Friday’s) wearing running
shoes. No open-toed shoes allowed, any day of the week.
*Please remember classroom,
school, and hall expectations. **Please continue to bring Box Tops for our school.
