FIRST COAST YMCA HOSTS SPLASH BASH

Free Community Pool Event for Everyone and Free Swim Testing

WHAT: The YMCA is hosting Splash Bash, a free swim event and community
open house that way everyone can learn to enjoy the water safely.

All First Coast YMCA pools will be accessible to everyone. Anyone in

the community (Y-members and non-members) are welcome to enjoy
the Y pools with their families and parents/guardians can access FREE
swim tests for children ages 6 – 12.

WHEN: Saturday, May 18, 2019. Hours vary by location.

WHERE: Find your nearest YMCA location with a pool!

WHY: Teaching children how to be safe around water is not a luxury; it is a

necessity. The YMCA’s Safety Around Water (SAW) program can help
parents make sure children learn essential water safety skills. SAW is
composed of eight 40-minute sessions to reduce the risk of drowning
by giving children confidence in and around water.

The program is geared for unintended entries into the water and
safety. The Y’s goal is that if a child falls in, they can swim, float
swim, tread, and exit the water.
