Wah Engineerig College Prospectus
University of Wah is a progressive institution of higher education promising a rewarding future for its
talented youth by offering a wide range of disciplines with multiple areas of specialization. Being
conscious of the emerging global challenges, it is imperative to equip our students with requisite
skills and innovative knowledge necessary for success. Hence, our HEC-based curricula are designed
on latest and efficient lines, in accordance with the insightful principles of Islam for everlasting
guidance of our future generation.
It is also a matter of satisfaction for me to share that the University of Wah is introducing rapid
infrastructural developments as well as IT-based environment throughout the campuses to
actualize the needs of current competitive environment. One key development outlined in this
regard is the establishment of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Directorate, which will cater for the
needs of young entrepreneurs interested in developing early-stage business ventures. I am hopeful
that this along with other infrastructural developments will herald a new era for our graduates to
commercialize new technologies, resources and services for sustainable growth in the
contemporary world.
This 15th portfolio/newsletter of UW showcases University's initiatives to respond to major
challenges in higher education. It is a chronicle of exciting happenings that mirror the commitment of each segment of the University for

l The Department of Management Sciences in collaboration with
Connecting Asia Sdn. Bhd. Malaysia organized one day Workshop
on “Tools and Techniques for Systematic Literature Review and
Smart-PLS” on 02 February, 2019. The workshop aimed at
pursuing faculty development program and helped in Briefing on "Effective Composition of Statement of Purpose"
establishing international linkages with Connecting Asia,
Malaysia. Dr. Imran Qureshi from Malaysian Institute of Industrial l Department of Biosciences organized a seminar on “Climate

Lecture on "Entrepreneurship and Freelancing" l WEC Environmental Society organized an awareness campaign on

l A joint Declamation Contest 2019 was organized by Debating
Clubs-UW and WEC on 26 February, 2019 in UW Auditorium. The
contest aimed at honing students' speaking skills and nurturing
their literary taste. The competition included serious and funny
debate topics both from Urdu and English languages. The
students participated in the contest with keen interest.

Chancellor congratulated the high achievers and motivated them
to work diligently towards success in academics as well as
extracurricular activities. At the end, medals and trophies were
distributed among the position holders

Student Council WEC organized a farewell party for outgoing
Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony-Quaid Campus students on 30 April, 2019. A large number of students and faculty
members attended the event

l Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony was held on 24 May, 2019 in
POFIT Hall to acknowledge the achievements of the students for
the academic year 2018-19. Prof Dr. Aftab Sadiq, SI(M) Principal
WEC, graced the ceremony as Chief Guest. Certificates, shields
and trophies were distributed amongst the office bearers and
faculty in-charges of Students Council, Clubs/ Societies and best

l Annual Inter-departmental Sports Competitions 2019 were held
during the Spring semester. In Boys' category, Department of
Chemical Engineering won Badminton, Department of
Mechanical Engineering won Table Tennis, Basketball and Cricket
whereas Department of Physics was the winner of Volleyball. In
Girls' category, Department of Physics won Table Tennis and
Badminton matches whereas Department of Chemistry was the
winner of Volleyball
l Basketball team of UW participated in NUST Olympiad on 20
February, 2019 and secured 1st position
Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony-WEC Campus l Inter-departmental Athletics Competitions were held from 21-22
March, 2019.Teams from Quaid and WEC Campuses participated
